ok Im not sure if there is already a thread like this but I dont care,
Ive discussed this with one of my valued freinds but 1 isnt enough to decide;
heres the facts:
I have about $180 over the christmas and my birthday.
I only have enough money for one of these products:
nintendo DS with mario kart and a stylus pack or pokemon XD

I already have pokemon colosseum
pokemon pearl/diamond/ranger/mysterious dungeons red and blue are coming to DS.

If you've played Colosseum, you pretty much know what to expect from XD. Basically a sub-par RPG that try's to use a few pretty good ideas but falls flat on it's face. At best, I'd call it an expansion to Colosseum. If you want to buy it, I'd wait until it drops in price.. unless you're a MASSIVE colosseum fan, or badly want Lugia, it really isn't worth it.

Mario Kart DS on the other hand is easily the best DS game out now, the best Mario Kart game ever, and is arguably Game of the Year.

If you want Pokemon XD just buy Colosseum. Colo is Player's Choice game, so it should be like 20 bucks at least.

yeah I think i have decided to get ds,after all,i hope xd comes to video stores and just rent it until I get lugia.
the bad thing is,I have 382 data on both sapphire and lefgreen and need lugia, but I have heard that rukario/bonsly/munchlax/manyula and manene might come to diamond/pearl.
another option:wait and buy a revolution, but I dont want to wait and it would probably be 200 dollars fot the revo alone excluding the game.

Buy a DS. even though it seems like you've decided, wait for the Revolution after buying a DS. Like said, wait until XD goes down in price.

Buy a DS. XD is a pretty bad game (pretty good rental though) and Colloseum is even worse (don't even rent it). What captivates you to "catch em all" anyway, especially when you'll have to restart next generation (ex: gold can't trade with ruby). You'll have loads more pokemon fun on the DS what with pokemon mysterious dungeon, pokemon trouze, pokemon ranger and most importantantly pokemon diamond and pearl all coming to it. For a next gen console I would reccomend PS3 or 360. Both will have great graphics, excellent 3rd party support and exclusive franchises. I wouldn't suggest getting the revolution until we see how well this controller thing works. Also you shouldn't be buying a console for pokemon (seeing as they are bad-horrible on consoles, hence the term pocket monsters), handhelds are more suitable for this game, they are almost always better on handhelds.

dp is compatible with 3rd gen, so you'll only have to get the newbies.

Btw, get a DS.

I heard about that before, but DS cannot link to GBA/SP/Micro in any way. How would it be possible to trade between R/S/E/FR/LG and D/P

The GBA slot on the DS :D

Other games have done it, Pokemon Dash for example reads the data from R/S/E/Fr/Lg, and makes all the Pokemon you own, into race tracks. There's no reason why Diamond and Pearl couldn't do the same thing, but simply transfer the Pokemon you have in your boxes over to D/P.

Get a DS. MKDS is the best thing since sliced bread, and you get D/P on it eventually. XD is excatly the same as Colosseum. (which was crap itself)

Yes, get a Nintendo DS. There are so many great games out for it right now and more on the way. (I didn't have to pay for XD cuzz I won it in a Contest along with a Platinum Gamecube from Nintendo :p)

I would have to side with the DS pack because it is better. After all, you can but other games for the DS, but you have only XD if you get that. I thionk that the DS is a great console, and offers all new and interactive features, so that in my opinion.

Out of a crazy mind.
ds all the way XD is exactly like coloseum
(oh no, shadow pokemon! lets catch it and make it less cool -_-)

DS pack. Colosseum and XD are complete garbage. DS has some good RPG's on radar.
