CHAPTER 1: HIS STORY STARTS
"Little brother, get up or you're gonna be late," came a girl's voice from downstairs. Makoto just grunted. "It's Monday, so hurry up, you idiot, or I'll make you!" Her brother gave another aggravated grunt, but got up this time. "Alright," he anounced, still tired, "I'm up." Makoto, a fourteen year old with light brown hair and emerald eyes, was to start his high school career today.
By the time Makoto got downstairs, Kaida had school things and his breakfast prepared. His sister is a beauty at nineteen, with azure eyes and misty silver hair. The two of them live alone because their parents died myteriously; only Kaida knows the truth...
"Thanks for the food," he said to his sister as he headed out the door, "See you!"
Makoto got off the bus and looked at his new home; Akai Ryu's exterior was quite beautiful.The front entrance was a ghost white gate with a gleaming golden arch above it. The building itself was decorated with the school colors (red and gold,) and had a caligraph of a red dragon snaking around the entire structure.
after admiring the architecture for another moment, he hurried inside for this year's ceremony to welcome all of the new students' acceptance into the school (Kaida told him about it.) Only students with top grades, as well as special qualities, could even dream of the honor.
The ceremony, which was being held in a large classroom this year, was just begining when Makoto entered. After finding a seat, the first thing he noticed upon looking around was that no one from his middle school was in the room. Awkwardly, he made an attempt at conversation with a bored looking boy to his right. "Uh, hi, I'm Makoto. And you-" "Shut it, dumb ***,"
snapped the boy. Makoto was about to retort when, "Quiet, everyone," was shouted, by a young woman behind a podium, at the front of the class. After the noise died down, she continued: "Good morning, to all of you, "and welcome to the Akai Ryu boarding school. It is here that you will learn how to unlock, and control the Power deep within your souls. For some of you, it will be elementt-based. Others may be able to command animals at will. Still, others..." She knew this speech by heart, and recites it word-for-word every year. Miss Maddison is the principal, after all. "...And of course, I'd like to congratulate you all on being acceped!"
The room was starting to empty when Miss Maddison came up to Mokoto. "Mr. Myazaki?" He nodded. "I had the pleasure of working with your sister, quite the student, she was. I can't wait to see what your Power will turn out to be!" She turned to walk away. "Oh, and have a good night." With that, she left.
Mokoto left the room feeling ****** off and embarressed about the special treatment the principal gave to him. He obtained a key and directions to his room from a faculty member and followed them. Feeling relived that no one had said anything about the event before, Mokoto opened the door and saw the ***-hole from the classroom, then exclaimed, "You're my roommate?! Oh, no freakin' way!
