Yellow Pikachu

Just wondering, can you trade your yellow pikachu to red/blue and then evolve it with the thunder stone in red/blue and then trade it back to yellow version as a raichu?

Yes. Though it will no longer follow you around, it becomes any old pokemon.

You can also trade it to R/B and trade it back and then use Thunder Stone on it to make it evolve.

I wonder why Nintendo lets you do that? I mean, Pikachu is the whole point of the game IMO.

Actually the point of the game is to mimic the anime. Had the starter been anything else, it would be exactly the same, just with that pokemon in tow.

Well, I don't really see the point in evolving Pikachu. That's probably the most unique thing about this particular game, and giving it up would ruin the fun

Yes, you can but when you trade it back it wont follow you.

I would really advise against trading that pikachu, because the whole point of Yellow is for it to be like the anime. If you trade it and evolve it, it would ruin the Yellow experience for you. I know it did for me.

No, only the original pikachu you started with will follow you. And if you trade that original pikachu and then trade it back, not even it will follow you.

Once thanks to the Mew trick I found a wild pikachu in Yellow...i put the old one in the PC and the new one followed me...

I'm glad I never evolved my pikachu. I new how you can evolve him already, but Pikachu is the main point of the game.

well, u no, if u trade it to g/s/c, it has an item called light ball. if u take it off and trade it bak to yellow, it will be like any other pokemon. and, if u give it 2 another pikachu, that one will follow u like the original

I think that the Pikachu that follows you around has to have the same trainer number, so seeing as you can't catch wild Pikachu in Yellow that leaves just the one you begin with. The Pikachu probably needs the light ball as well though.

My answer is Yes, you can trade Pikachu to R/B and use the Thunder Stone to evolve your Pikachu into Raichu.
