This card cannot be Special Summoned. This card returns to the owner's hand during the End Phase of the turn that this card is Normal Summoned or flipped face-up. When this card inflicts Battle Damage to your opponent's Life Points, draw cards from your Deck until you have 5 cards in your hand.

Yamata Dragon is the lesser of two evils. We'll get into the other evil tomorrow. Yamata has seen some sideboard play, comboed with Mausoleum of the Emperor for an easy summon-beat-revive hand sort of thing. And such tom foolery is not that difficult to do. I prefer setting this monster, especially using the field, if you have protection for it down, you shouldnt fear NoXout or the swordsmen. And if they're not paying attention to "I pay 2000" then they probably will hit this facedown card, fall short, and fill your hand. The hydra is yet another underused card with a decent effect.

Advanced Format: 3/5 (This hurts when played correctly.)

Better then you
I like this card. But the only time I'd play it is if I had no cards in my hand. But I like it's defense, plus it's a Dragon so it'd fit perfectly in my deck.

This card to be honest is one of those spirit monsters people glance over due to their 'draw back' of being returned to the hand, now I like that the spirits have majorly unique effects, try finding more cards like this, Asura Priest, Yata, Long Nose, Dust Spirit in the game that would work in a deck together.

While Mausoleum of the Emperor is a card that can be used to bring it out, to be honest if you were running low of hand cards, you'd often be running low on life points, most duelists i've faced when they are losing they play as many cards as they can to defend, so unless you're a duelist who plays quite few cards during a duel or just happen to have a spare 2000 LP going round I guess it is a good thing to summon it with, especially since it can't be special summoned. I mean sure there are more easy summoning methods to get this defending hand refresher out but to be honest you aren't exactly going to come across many of this nowdays anyway. Though with Mausoleum in the air it might get some more play sooner than I thought, I guess i'll have to wait and see, unless it is getting more play and i'm behind.

I'd also like to add that this card has a nice art, some cards when you just look at them make you scream or toss it out of your deck but this card has that kind of nice/"look i'm a shiny awesome dragon with loads of heads" type vibe.

Rating? Errrrr i'd say sorta 2.5-3 because for me the effect of drawing until 5 is awesome but getting it out onto the field is what often puts me off cards like the spirits etc...
