Today's COTD is....
Inaba White rabbit
[BEAST / SPIRIT / Earth]
This card cannot be Special Summoned. This card returns to the owner's hand during the End Phase of the turn that this card is Normal Summoned, Flip Summoned or flipped face-up. This monster attacks your opponeent's Life Points directly.
ATK/ 700 DEF/ 500
To kick off Spirit week, I'll start with Inaba White Rabbit. This card used to see a whole lot of play back when LOD came out, but still has a slot for Spirit decks even today. It's stats aren't that impressive, what with 700 ATK, but he hit's directly everytime, and can even be combo'ed with Robin' Goblin or Robin' Zombie.
Most recently, a teammate of mine (David Javery) playtested this bunny in a micro-burn deck at SJC Arlington. Despite the fact that it returns to your hand at every end phase, it's protected from your opponents 1-for-1 removals and can do the same thing next turn. Now, have a Level-Limit Area-B on the field, along with Cyber Tutu and possible a Lava Golem, dropping this thing will ensure you'll make a faster win before your opponent can counter against your stall-threats. Basically, 1400 damage can be done to your opponent quick time.
In Spirit decks, it's good to have cards lkike Threatening Roar or Waboku out to protect your Inaba (and other monsters) from getting hurt. 700 ATK may seem small, but when you have cards like Asura Priest, Great Long Nose, and Susa Soldier out along with the Rabbit dealing damage every turn, it add's up quick.
I give Inaba White Rabbit a 2.5/5. I's not the best Spirit Monster in the world, but in Micro Burn and Spirit decks, this card can shine with the correct protection.
