If there is a thread like this then please close this one, however I could not find one.

This thread is where you can talk about your experiences at JAA (Journey Across America). In your post you would tell your 'story' of what happened and how you experienced the event.

I just got back from JAA at MoA in Minneapolis/St. Paul and let me say that it was awesome to be there. As I came, I noticed the cars by MoA with the sign that was advertising the upcoming movie Lucario and the Mystery of Mew. As soon as I saw that I was excited! I rushed inside and I downloaded Celebi :) however I didn't get the chance to download anybody because the line was too long, however I did have all of the 20 other downloadable pokemon; so I'm not dissapointed. I saw the Staff Member Trevor there however I did not get to talk to him. I was there from 10:45 to 3:00; and I just arrived home several minutes ago. All in all, it was fun, but I was hoping that it would be a little bit more fun (ex. more activities) that people could get into. Even though there was alot of activities, there could have been more. You may have seen me there (long hair covering face, black shirt with green words on it, blue jeans, etc.) and I think I saw a couple of members here at JAA, but I'm not sure.Please post and discuss your experiences.

I also got back from the Mall of America about two hours ago. I was there from about 10:30 until 2:00. I left with two Celebis, a Latios, a Latias, a Dragonite, and a level 70 Bulbasaur. I'm actually much more excited with having Latios and Latias then I am with the Celebis. I was the kid in the tan pants, purple teeshirt, with long brown hair if anyone saw me. I was with a blonde kid in a suit coat.

I wasn't so enamored with the event. It's cool that I got some rare Pokemon, but I know that they'll eventually end up rotting away in my XD game as I replay Emerald and Leafgreen. The problem was lack of activities. They had who I think were the voice actors signing autographs, but I don't watch the show. My freind and I still had a good time, however. It was a great place to people watch. It was interesting to see all the fans. Young kids. People in thier forties (and one very creepy obese man wearing an Ash hat), etc. We also got to see resident Munchlax be led by the hand out of his changing area. (The suit must have been very hard to manuever in.) The expression on his costume made it seem as though he had just been sedated and needed to be led through the crowd in a daze. I was looking foward to mixing records with a few random people, but I didn't get the chance. Oh well. I hadn't been to one of these events since the Mew give-aways back during Pokemon's hayday.

Oh, and there was one kid who took it upon himself to move up and down the line for Celbi asking if people had any shiny Pokemon. My freind and I just laughed at him. Did he expect anyone to trade thiers away? Be you a member of this site, I'd like to voice my disgust for your pathetic actions. Though it was amusing.

I got back from the MoA event, also. I nabbed two celebis and downloaded Trozei on my DS and that was about it. I didn't see any VAs signing anything except for a couple of people signing some certificates (that didn't look like VAs).
I made a team to compete in the Video Game tournament, but opted out. The Lucario plushes sold out like mad, but I managed to pick up a Ho-oh and a Latias for my little sister.
It was 'meh'. They should have had an area for GBA battling/mixing records for people.
I saw a bunch of people with the Pikachu hats and Ash hats, but I missed out on the much older people wearing paraphenelia. (sp?)

And actually... Earlier the line for the Celebi was insane, then it switched to the Top 20. I stepped in right when there was nobody at the Celebi line, so I got mine right quick.

I can't wait to go to the JAA in Boston, Massachusetts, or New York, whatever date works out better. Me and my friend are going and entering the tournament, I especially want after winning the Rocks America tournament last fall. I can't wait for a legit Celebi either. I'm going to download those 20 Pokemon too.

PS, I NEED HELP!!

Do you have to register for the event beforehand somehow, online I think? My friend said you have to, and we don't know how...

It was pretty cool. I went, got Celebi, sneaked into the front of the line for the Top 20 Pokemon a few times and got the hell out of there. =/

Was pretty awesome. I went to the one at Valley Fair in San Jose. Got Celebi on all my games and got two of the top 20 for my cartridges. Won a Skitty pillow for answering the question "Who is May and Max's mom?" <3. It was pretty fun.

Heh, I was at the same one. *lives in San Jose* D:

I had to leave at 2:15pm since we had to drive back to Chicago. (6 1/2 hour drive) It was awesome... I loved it... (I can't go to the one in Chicago so that's why I went to the one at MoA.) ;munchlax;

Also I was the 8th person in line for Celebi... I told my dad to get me there by 9:40-ish... :D THAT LINE FOR CELEBI WAS MASSSIVE! THEN AT THE END THE TOP 20 WAS MASSIVE! O_O Good thing I got there early... >.>

I got a Pikachu hat and had it on... who knows... you might have saw me... XD I got the Lucario plushie the day before JAA so I was good. (I also got Ho-Oh and I already had Latias from Pokemon Rocks America 2005.) ;munchlax;

Edit: I had a Pokemon Rocks America shirt on... (it was red) and I had a Pikachu hat on somewhat after I got the downloads... Also I had dark blue jeans and red converse... :D

I went to MOA. It wan't too bad. I got there about noon-ish.I saw about 5-6 TV screens which showed 3 pokémon episodes, but there was too much noise. I could barely hear anything. I did manage to hear all of the movie sneak peak though, and it was incredible! I'm glad it was in english 'cause I heard Lucario's pronunciation: LOO-CAH-REE-OH. A lot of people thought it would be LOO-SAH-REE OH. I saw Manyula too, but I didn't hear an english name, so she's still unknown. Some red-head boy even came up to me and asked me about Lucario's basic info. So I showed him the main site and the next generation page. The only download I managed was 1 Celebi. I wanted to get 2 so I could trade one to my brother. I didn't get any of the 20 'cause the line was practically the length of the entire mall. I wanted to stay there the entire time in hope of the line shrinking, but my dad pulled me out at 1:30.

Hey, Serebii, here's something to consider for the Pokédex-Name Pronunciation. Some pokémon names are hard to determine because of the way they're spelled. Lucario, Grovyle, and Suicune are good examples of such confusion.

Predicted Pronunciation:
Lucario--LOO-SAH-REE-OH
Grovyle--GRO-VILL
Suicune--SOO-EE-COON

Actual Pronunciation:
Lucario--LOO-CAH-REE-OH
Grovyle--GRO-VILE
Suicune--SWEE-COON

Think about it, and if you can, put a pronuncition guide in the Pokédex.

I only downloaded 1 Celebi also. I asked a person that works there and they had said that they will only let you download 1 Celebi per cartridge... :p And I too was unable to get 2 of the 20 top pokemon for the line was infact at minimum 3/4 of a mile long (I may be exaggerating a small bit)... But like I said in my first post, I wasn't dissapointed because I know that I can get all of those other pokemon in-game; however that means that I would have to train them many days to get them to Lv.70 like the others.

I didn't go. Didn't know if there was one near me. So there was one in San Jose? I live right by there, I could have gone!

This sucks. ;_;

gee that's swell
OMG!!! I'm going this weekend!!!!! In Chicago!!!! I'm am so freaking excited! It's gonna be so awsome, I plan to get Celebi, and buy a bunch of stuff, while also competing in the tournament, but remembering my last experience at a Pokemon event, I'll probably be very nervous too, I hope I don't forget how to battle like I've trained!

From the sounds of it, none of you really participated in the battle, and Celebi sounds like it will take a while to get. That's ok, Celebi will be so worth it! I know for sure! The moive preview sounds great too, I hope I'll have time to do all this stuff, I'm expecting to be pretty busy battling

For the reason that none of my Pokemon were at level 100. It would've been nice if they had divided the competition into different levels like in the events during the fad. I think that was the event's main problem. If you weren't in the tournament, basically the only thing you had to do there was download Pokemon or buy paraphonalia (if you're into that). An area for trading/record mixing/casual battling would've been much appreciated.

I'm to lazy to say what happened to me :p

I was in the tourny but lost the first battle. but it was so fun :D and its a good thing that I lost because I am going to EV train a new team and if I wont the first battle I would never have had got into EV training. I havn't started yet (still need lugia and latios's perfect natures).

but my new team is latios,lugia,ho-oh,mewtwo,rayquaza and kyogre.

let me tell you if you are going to enter the tourny for JAA forget all stat boosting moves. all you want is super freakin powerful moves on uber pokemon. if you don't you will lose and you will lose hard. like don't use T bolt use thunder and that kind of stuff. you want the best moves you can get ;)
