Nothing to be done
Are we like...not allowed to list non-genre books in here?

East of Eden by John Steinbeck
All the Names by Jose Saramago (favorite author)
Breakfast of Champions by Kurt Vonnegut

I'll have to think of more. But those are three that jump out immediately as resonating with me far more than other books, no matter how good, I've read.

A Song of Ice and Fire by George RR Martin

The Clique Series.

....

Laugh all you want, but I'm a teenage girl, so....those books are VERY EASY to relate to. It's hilarious to see these "popular" girls worrying the pettiest things.

The Age of Fire series by E. E. Knight
Relic by Douglas Preston & Lincoln Child
The Kin by Peter ****inson
The Ropemaker & Angel Isle also by Peter ****inson

These are in no particular order. These are just some of the books I can pick up again and again.

The Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling
The Ultimate Hitchhiker's Guide by Douglas Adams
His Dark Materials by Philip Pullman
The Divine Comedy by Dante Aligihieri
The Books of Blood by Clive Barker
The Inhuman Condition by Clive Barker

***I love all of Clive's work, but the above 2 are collections of his short stories.***

The Abarat series by Clive Barker (still waiting for the remaining books)
I'm also fond of the multiple collections of R.A. Salvatore.
The Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind
and who could forget the works of Tolkien.

I'm usually not a big "book" type person but...

- Artemis Fowl series by Eoin Colfer
- Animorphs by K.A. Applegate.

The funniest thing is, most of the Animorphs books I have are all in French.

Series:
Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy - Douglas Adams
Discworld - Terry Pratchett
Dresden Files - Jim Butcher
The Dark Tower - Stephen King

Single favourite books are far too many to name, let's just say anything by Neil Gaiman, Terry Pratchett, Haruki Murakami and China Miéville and be done with it. There's plenty more of course but I wouldn't want to name hundreds of books here.

Edit: I'm pleasantly surprised by how little Twilight is mentioned here, when I saw the thread I expected it to be in more than half of the posts, actually.

hahaha Animorphs, when I was like 12-13 I was so fascinated by the covers. Never really got into reading them, though.

My favorite series is The LotR trilogy by J.R.R. Tolkien. (also love The Hobbit)

Other books I like:
- Animal Farm by George Orwell
- 1984 by George Orwell
- Slaughterhouse 5 by Kurt Vonnegut
- the Loneweolf series by Joe Dever (has anyone ever heard of this books?)
- His Dark Materials by Philip Pullman

Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy - Douglas Adams

So I'm not the only one that likes these books! I find them interesting. If anyone in my class saw me reading that, I'd be branded a nerd for life...that is the rest of the year, but...oh well... I'm just glad someone else reads them!
