I listen to all kinds of music over the radio. But, I prefer background scores more & less of the singing-type.
I'm a big fan of Hans Zimmer's works. Some of his tunes, like the ones in Man of Steel, can really make any bad day into good again.

I'm a huge fan of industrial metal. Artists such as Celldweller, Blue Stahli and Device are among my favorites. Post-Hardcore and Metalcore are great genres too. My favorite artists in those genres are A Day To Remember, Dangerkids and The Browning. I stick to electronic and hard rock/metal as the other genres either bore me or give me a migraine! Oh and video game/anime music is great too!!

Have a top 10 list of my favorite artists!
1. Celldweller/Blue Stahli (can't choose)
2. A Day To Remember
3. Device
4. Dangerkids
5. Combichrist
6. The Browning
7. Linkin Park
8. Capture the Crown
9. Bring Me The Horizon
10. Attack Attack! (RIP)

It feels like I'm missing an important band. :\ Ehh, I'll probably remember them after I post this.

EDIT: I was right, forgot CTC!

I'd say I have expanded my musical tastes a whole lot in the last four years, so I'm going to make a real list now.

Chicago (60s and 70s)
The Beatles
Streetlight Manifesto
The Doors
Blood, Sweat & Tears
Fleet Foxes
Gryphon
Bread
Brainchild (1970 Brass Rock band, not any of the others)
Eagles
The Divine Comedy
Boston
America
Afroskull
Egg
John Denver
Jim Croce
Pink Floyd
The Left Banke

To give a more general idea of what I listen to, bands/artists that I love one or two songs by:

Lighthouse (have a feeling I would love this band more if I could explore their earlier albums, but they're very hard to find)
Emergency (early 70s Brass Rock group)
Dreams (also an early 70s Jazz/Brass Rock group)
Santana
Bandits of the Acoustic Revolution
Electric Light Orchestra
Kansas
Blue Oyster Cult
Tears For Fears
Led Zeppelin
Crosby, Stills & Nash
The Ides of March
The Four Tops
The Spinners
Pentangle
Simon & Garfunkel
The Amazing Blondel
Steely Dan
Fuel
Staind
3 Doors Down

I could make any entirely different list with Classical/Early Music, but I figured I'd just go with the "popular" music category here.

Lately two genres I've really been getting more into are Brass Rock and Folk, especially more traditional, early music based-folk (since I do love early music).
