The major point was Charizard has better public reception from its design as do older Pokemon as well. Saying its an opinion cuts the argument short and puts it no where; By pointing out most people like charizard's design (I don't need stats for this its kind of well known) it helps the argument that Gen V didn't live up to its full potential.

I can say with solid truth that Charizard is popular. I can also say with solid truth it is because of how he performed in-game, his design, his mega evo and much more. Charizard is known to be a fan favorite. I'm pretty sure I can say that with truth. If you want me to back this up all we have to do is look at how Nintendo/Gamefreak markets Charizard on everything. There is a reason for that.

The problem with saying something is subjective is that it takes the argument no where, cuts it short and over all just leaves the forum empty. I can back up with solid truth why Charizard is one of the most popular Pokemon and how its design is great. If it wasn't it wouldn't be marketed in literally every Gen besides Gen IV and V, it wouldn't be included in Fan Favorite action figure sets, it wouldn't have been included in Pokemon Origins, it would have never been a FRLG mascot, and it certainly wouldn't have been voted the best on IGN's top Pokemon List and Dorklys Toplist for Pokemon. But it did all those things.

I didn't say that Charizard isn't popular, though, I'm saying that Charizard having a great design is nothing more than an opinion. Neither of those sources mean anything other than "a lot of people think it has a great design." That doesn't mean it actually is an undeniably great design though.

Charizard holds prominence in the Pokemon series. It is pretty obvious that it is popular for one of the reasons mentioned. As does Lucario and Garchomp which was released relatively in the same time frame as Pokemon BW if we are talking about Pokemon Platinum and US release dates. Gen V has had almost 5 years to show us an icon like Lucario/Garchomp and had almost the same amount of time as Platinum had. Still nothing. The argument holds pretty valid. In fact I have such a good argument that people are getting angry, Tepig Pignite and others. Its usually a good indication that the side that gets angry and hostile really starts to show they are losing the argument. Its usually the calm, cool and collected side that usually wins (Ex: JAWS and his "genwunners" right now).

I...don't think you know what's a good indicator of someone winning an argument. People getting mad doesn't mean you're winning, it just means they're getting fed up with talking to a brick wall that refuses to accept that he's not objectively correct.

Since I've started the argument 6 people agree with me unsurprisingly. And thats only when I started. It only seems like 3-4 really oppose what I am saying. While the other 6+ actually get it. I don't think I'm losing. I think I've won and when people get angry its practically stealing candy from a baby at that point. The argument's practically won whether I'm right or not. I can already feel the intense anger leaking from them.

If you really want me to end the argument fine, they are making it too easy for me to pick apart their arguments anyways plus its boring being on the winning side.

Saying you won an argument of opinions like that (let's ignore the fact that this isn't even possible) only gives everybody a bad impression of you, especially when it's not the case. More opinions agreeing with you does not make an opinion a fact, nor does it mean you "won," so to speak. Furthermore, this list of people who think Gen 5 is their least favorite don't all necessarily agree with your reasoning for it being the worst, so your reasoning is faulty there.

Yes winning means getting general consensus to agree with you. If more people agree with you and back up your claim then it does mean you won. While this may be an opinionated argument, there certainly can be a winner and thats usually the person with more people agreeing with reasonable claims (Ive stated more than design). Therefore I won in that aspect and like most people on this forum they would agree.

Like I said if someone is angry behind a computer screen on a Pokemon forum I think they have a little more issues than my argument. Not to call out anyone on here. Oh wait thats exactly what I'm doing haha.

If someone is so angry that they telling me to go buy a doll and do weird things with it then I think we have more issues than the forum (Tepig Pignite). Lol. This is getting fun!

Jaws you are allowed to have the opinions you have, you just give them way too much weight, importance, and pass them off as facts simply because they are in the majority. No one had issues with any of the people you quoted even though they had similar opinions because they didn't convey them the same way you did. I barely even remember what your main point(s) or argument(s) are, cause I'm pretty sure I remember you said you don't even find gen 5 to be that bad/the worst but then all this happened, and there's a lot of thread to go through.
