So based on everything we know about the games so far, I think we have a pretty good idea of what the games are gonna be like, I think even with the “casual” direction of the games, we could still get tons of things that could really flesh out these games to the level of the other ones.

There’s still an entire reveal cycle left, so I’m wondering, what’s everyone’s hopes and dreams for what they alls added in? Here’s what I got:

>Celedon City Game Corner turned into a spot where we can play remakes of the Pokemon Stadium Minigames

>Sevii Islands return, Alola Forms obtainable there

>Customization, at the very least we can have all of Red's outfits (His original, his FRLG one, his 96 shirt, etc.)

>The opposite player character is a secondary rival, with an all new team or she can use Blue’s alternate team from RB, while he uses the team from Yellow or viceversa

>Tons of new areas and facilities scattered over the region, probably not gonna go full Battle Frontier, but little stuff like the Maile City “Gym” or Viridian City Trainer House or would be nice

>"Episode Mewtwo" postgame story, involves the Sevii Islands, Mew and Team Rocket and other legendaries, could go really deep into the backstory and flesh out the entire plot. It could lead us under the truck or going to Faraway Island to catch Mew itself

>Mega Evolution and Z-Moves obtainable in the game, with late game trainers using one of each depending on their rosters

>Bring back the photo modes from 7th gen, give us a little “Pokémon Snap 2” built right in

>Route 28 and Mt.Silver thrown in, they’re closer to Kanto than Johto anyways

>More references to the anime, like a Biker Gang blocks Route 17, or we get a little reward for catching 30 Tauros

>Since it’s just 151, Incentive and encourage us to go and actually catch em all, maybe we can unlock a battle with Professor Oak if we show him a complete dex

>Serves as a "prequel" to the other games, like we meet and battle Kukui at some point which inspires him to form a league in his home region,

>PWT style tournament featuring Gym leader rematches, tons of cameo characters, "true" postgame final battle with the Rival could go here. They can really embody Gen 1s “I wanna be the very best” theme by letting us battle everyone we met along our journey, at their best, all in one place!

These games could really be contenders for my all time favorites if they add in stuff like this!

Back when Tigers used to smoke.
An Adventures adaptation of Let's Go Pikachu and Eevee featuring Yellow as the MC alongside the returning Gym Leaders. Kind of curious what she's been up to after all the other story arcs. Would make sense since Let's Go is essentially a remake of Pokemon Yellow.

I've only thought about wanting a few things.
-Jessie and James return (They were in Pokemon Yellow)
-Looker on the S.S. Anne (There's a NPC on it that reminds me of him)
-A battle against Professor Oak (There's an unused battle in the Gen. I games)

Nightlingbolt

AKA Nightlingbolt
All I want is an actual canon name for Leaf (assuming the protags are just redesigns of Red and Leaf, which I hope they aren't).

I posted this in another thread but I think it fits here too.

What if you could use badges the same way you could Z-Crystals in the Alola games, based on the type of the Gym Leader? Boulder Badge = Rockium Z and Cascade Badge = Waterium Z for example. It would be a fun nod to the fact that in the Gen 1 beta they were originally bag items. For the other 10 types they could be some sort of a side quest and maybe a way to shout-out the Johto Gym leaders.

Other than that, it's just little things I'm looking forward to, like Mama Marowak in the Pokemon tower hopefully being the Alolan form.

My only wish is that LGPE was actually the 2019 games lol.

But actually I would like that just show some creativity on filling the blank spots between routes. Since you can fly on a charizard at any point I don't want the games to box you into the route. They should let the player fly any where on the map and "fill in" the blank spots inbetween routes

BlisseyEX

The happiness Pokémon
I only wish that shinies aren't impossible to catch in the games, there don't seem to be any Razz berries like in Pokémon Go so...

I’d like to see that. I would love for them to do little side quests to unlock things. Like maybe someone sends us on a little quest to fight a powerful ice type trainer and rewards us with the Iceium Z, or they send us to find the user of Mega Alakazam who would pass their mega stone on to us.
I don’t think Battle Points are gonna be in here, so there’s probably new ways to get the rarer items.

Side quests for important characters like Gym Leaders would be really great to see, like Blaine’s could go into his backstory with Dr. Fuji, the Pokémon Mansion, potentially some ties to Mewtwo, Brock’s could involve explorating some hidden areas on Mt Moon or Rock Tunnel, etc. The rewards could be Z Crystals or the moves that used to be HMs like the Surf and Strength TM.

One bizarre thing I want is the Legendary Birds to get a significant upgrade. I'm not even sure what that would be but considering there will not be many legendaries in this region it would be good to see them get extra focus.

1. Difficulty just about identical to Kanto so far, not turned down much if at all

2. A battle facility, no matter how lazily thrown together - literally just clone a Battle Tower and make it Gen 1 rosters only for all I care

3. A little more characterization for some Gym Leaders (Sabrina) and E4 (Agatha)

4. Some sort of easter egg homage to the legacy of glitches and bugs from Gen 1 would be cute

5. Small side stories or quests for the Birds

6. Sevii Islands returning or being replaced by a new post-game equivalently sized

All of that combined would make these games actually perfect for me. I wouldn't have a single complaint at all.

Probably won't happen but I would like for a post game in which all the gym leaders are involved and at some point you battle them all at their full power.
PirateKing, you had some really good ideas, I especially like the idea of the Celadon Game Corner turning into Pokemon Stadium style mini games.

I think one thing that could impact is that the type specialists may have options they never had before. In the original gen 1, the elite 4 lacked enough pokemon of their types. With the regional variants in this game if the elite 4 of Kanto are in I could see them more specialised. Lorelei could have an Alolan Sandslash and Alolan Ninetails, Agatha could have and Alolan Marowak, Lance could have an Alolan Exeggutor and Bruno Could have an Alolan Golem.

Woah.. Lorelei with Alolan Ninetales and Sandslash? I didn't even think of that haha.
I forgot how unbalanced Gen 1's type distribution was. Only one Dragon Line and One Ghost line.
It sounds like a cool idea, but I think it kind of ruins their original teams and how menacing they felt at the time. For some reason, Lance with an Alolan Exeggutor sounds so silly to me haha.

Agreed with most points.
-I'd prefer Difficulty Levels like with BW2. Players can decide if they want their game to be easy/hard/challenging etc. I really hope we'd get this feature implemented in future games.
-Hopefully we get a healthy amount like with the Gym leaders in BW. I enjoyed how expressive they were and their relevance in the story.
- I doubt they'd do anything to celebrate a glitch. It's pretty embarrassing to even have one. But they may do something with Mew being under a truck, most likely a NPC hinting it used to be there or something to troll with us.
-They did this incredibly well with Moltres in one of the sevii islands (I forgot which one).

My own hopes for this game I haven't stated already consist of:
(1) - Innovative Capture Mechanics. I stated in the Thoughts Thread about how I want the capture system to be different for Let's GO as if it were separate mini games.
* (Pokemon Specific Capture System) Ex. Diglett/Dugtrio could go underground and make new holes. Once enough holes are made and it still hasn't been caught, it will move around similar to a game of Whack a Mole. This would be great with Co-Op mode.
* (Setting Based Capture Mechanics) Water Pokemon found in the sea can dive underwater or spray the screen with a Water Gun/Splash, making the camera wet and hindering your vision for a short while.
* (Type Based Capture Mechanics) Psychic Pokemon like Drowzee can use Telepathic abilities to generate illusions and trick you into believing you caught it, when you really haven't.
I just want an immersive feeling. We're already getting it with Pokemon in the overworld, but I would have preferred if this was more prioritized. I'd love for something of this caliber to happen. I'm not too big a fan of the repetitive capture mechanics.

(2) - The Game Corner returning, which I'm unsure of at this point. A substitute for it where we can still buy Pokemon like Porygon, Scyther, some TMs, etc. Would also be neat if we could get Regional Variants from Game Corner purchases.

(3) - New moves and abilities. I kind of want a bit of a new experience and hopefully we get this, but I sort of doubt it. They'd probably save things like that for Gen 8. Still crossing my fingers for the LGPE Starter Pokemon to get special moves that aren't Z-Moves.

(4) - Pokemon interacting with each other, and the trainer as well. I think it'd be cool to see certain Pokemon sort of battling each other, sort of like in a predator or prey situation. Or maybe two Nidoran (M) are going at it for a cute Nidoran (F) they want to be with. I don't know, something for them to do so we don't just find them wandering around aloof. Would be boring if they acted that way, it'd feel incredibly mechanical and less immersive.

It'd also be great if some Pokemon run away from you and you would have to chase after them, or certain Pokemon feel threatened by you and decide to engage.

(5) - Better rewards for collecting Pokemon. I would honestly take the time to capture Pokemon again if they had kept the Professor's Assistants who give you items after you catch a certain amount of Pokemon. It was honestly a great idea and encouraged players to actually do the job they were hired to do!

This ties into another one of my wishes even though it's already been deconfirmed.

I wish these games would have acknowledged the cross-gen evolutions from 2 and 4 (and Sylveon/Megas) and made them at least available in these games. It only brings the total number up to around 200 which isn't incredibly intimidating and we get more of the type diversity that seems to be coming with the Al0las.

I don't think it'd impact too much as Gen 1 Elite 4's only had teams of 5 so it would just help to fill out the teams to a solid 6. I would want to see him with such an Alolan Exeggutor but I get it's a bit goofy. I'll admit though Bruno is the bit that makes me think it won't happen as Alolan Golem was a stretch. But it's still a hope.

Another unrelated thing I would like to see is some interesting In-game trades. This is pure nostalgia for me I admit but I always liked the trades in games (especially the older ones) as you get some rare pokemon....with insane yet clean names. Plus they have the option now of them getting exclusive moves.

I want Trainer customization to return with Yellow's outfit from Pokemon Adventure, including the iconic Straw Hat, to be part of that customization! That would be an awesome easter egg.

My only hope is the that this game slowly goes away and never bothers us again.

That would be awesome. Also, with pokemon following us around again, I'd like to see the stuff they're wearing in some way, like hats, necklaces, or belts (for example).

My only hope is the that this game slowly goes away and never bothers us again.
That's unfortunate. I, for one, will enjoy playing alongside my son, and honestly the original story is still strong enough to warrant another pass, especially if they incorporate a lot of stuff that's come along since then.

I'm pretty happy with what we've seen of the colour palette so far. A lot of Pokemon have seemed a bit washed out to me since the switch to 3D, Voltorb is generally my go to example (I think it should be the same shade of red as say Groudon) and tbh the Electrode we've seen does seem too pale to me, but other Pokemon look nice and vibrant

EDIT: Actually looking at the Electrode in the GO Park segment of the gameplay we saw today it actually looks pretty bang on.

I don't think LGPE will be a very bad game, but at the moment I don't have many wishes for the game. But I like to have in-game:

-A post-game plot that revolves around Mewtwo
-Alolan forms being obtainable in some post-game location
-Rematches with Gym Leaders post-game, preferably against stronger teams
-Somewhere to breed Pokémon, perhaps it could be a post-game surprise for the new players

Other than that, I'm quite satisfied with the game.
