Okay, so I've seen two Yugioh GX RP's, and both of them failed. This got me thinking, 'if someone created a Yugioh GX RP that actually followed the rules, it'd probably be pretty cool.' Well, since nobody's done it yet, I thought I'd give it a shot, considering I've wanted to create an RP for a while but couldn't think of a good idea for one. That being said, I'll move on to the plot:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Notes: The following plot contains spoilers for those who did not see the Seven Star Saga of Yugioh GX, or at least read the episode guides on sites such as Janime.info. Also, if you don't know about the game of Yugioh, go to http://www.upperdeckentertainment.com/yugioh/en/faq_start.aspx for the rules, both Basic and Advanced, of Yugioh (or Duel Monsters as it's called in all other forms of Yugioh Media).
One last thing. I use the original Japanese Names for the characters of Yugioh GX, because basically...I hate the names 4Kids gave them, and since they WILL be appearing in the RP even though most of them graduated, here's a list of translations (for the Japanese names, the last name comes first):
Japanese-------------English
Yuki Judai------------Jaden Yuki
Tenjoin Asuka--------Alexis Rhode
Manjyoume Jun-------Chazz Princeton
Marufuji Sho----------Syrus Truesdale
Marufuji Ryo----------Zhan Truesdale
Prof. Chronos De Mediz-Dr. Crowler
Misawa Daichi---------Bastion Misawa
Maede Hayato--------Chumley Huffington
Daitokuji-------------Prof. Banner
Tenjoin Fubuki-------- Atticus Rhode
Tyranno Kenzan------- (ALSO no dub name)
Edo Phoenix----------- (people, we're only on Ep. 20-something here in the states...)
Saiou Takuma--------- (I REALLY wish I could tell you, but you know how it is)
Plot: Summer is coming to its end. The City Pool is closing, school supplies are going on sale, and almost all kids are depressed beyond belief. You are more likely than not one of those kids, unless you're one of the few who actually enjoy school. No matter what your views on the regular academic program where you live are, you've got a special talent- you're a skilled Duelist, and at the moment, that's all that really matters.
One day, you go out to get the mail from the mailbox in your front yard. You open it up, and start going through the various letters and bills as you walk back through your front yard to your house. You put your hand on the doorknob, when you notice one of the letters has the symbol of the prestige Duel Academy on the front. Excitedly, you run into your house and tear it open, throwing the other envelopes on the floor. You take out the piece of paper inside, and begin to read...
Congradulations, Duelist! Because of your incredible skills in the field of Duel Monsters, you have been selected to attend the famous Duel Academy, built by none other than Seto Kaiba, owner of Kaiba Corp. In order to go all the way, however, you still have one test to pass. On August 28, you must go to the Duel Academy Embassy of your hometown, or the closest one to you, and pass the Entrance Exam. You must duel against one of our professors, who will be using one of the many Training Decks of Duel Academy. Win the duel, or do an incredible job, and you will be accepted to the school.
Good luck,
Duel Academy
Amazed, you stare blankly at the letter for a moment. You then rush upstairs to your room to prepare your deck for this momentous occasion...
However, unknown to you and all other students receiving this letter, you'll do more at Duel Academy than learn Duel Monsters and business. Much more. For there is a dark evil lurking on Academy Island. And this time...Yuki Judai and his friends isn't there to defeat it.
For those who don't know, four years ago Yuki Judai, or 'drop-out boy' as Prof. Chronos calls him, and his friends defeated the Seven Star Assassins and their leader, Kagemaru, saving the world from his evil reign. It was assumed that they were gone for good, but they're not. They're back and stronger than ever.
You see, after Yuki Judai and his friends graduated, a former Duel-Academy Graduate known as Kagai Hikaru founded a secret underground organization called Shining Darkness, whose goal is world domination in the name of Kagai Hikaru. Apparently, he only hires the best duelists, and those who lust for more power. He also has an ability which makes him more dangerous than any murderer or criminal. He has the power of the Shadow Games- duels where you must risk your life...instead of something worthless like a rare card. The seven highest ranking Shadow Duelists in his organization have been named the Kettou Seven Star Assassins.
Now, you might be wondering what connection these people have with the original Seven Stars, that would make Kagai want to name the seven duelists the Seven Stars. You see, when each of the Seven Stars lost a duel, they, too, had to abide by the rules of the Shadow Game and give up their lives. However, they each had one last trick up their sleeves. Just as they died, they each transferred their life essence and their dueling skills to another Duelist. Kagai tracked down these seven duelists and gave them jobs in Shining Darkness.
Kagai, constantly looking for strong Duelists to enlist in Shining Darkness, has concocted a plot to attack the one place with the most promising duelists one earth- Duel Academy. So, he sent the Kettou Seven Star Assassins to Academy Island, along with a large group of lower-ranking Shadow Duelists. When these Shadow Duelists win a Shadow Duel, they can, instead of killing the loser, brainwash them into becoming a slave of Shining Darkness. Still, Kagai told the Shadow Duelists before they left to only brainwash either the most skilled duelists they defeat, or those necessary to his plan. The rest who lose a Shadow Game must die.
It's now the day before you take part in the entrance exam to Duel Academy. You have your deck ready, and are ready to face the entrance exam. You think you know everything you need to know about how things are going to go at Duel Academy, but what you don't know is that you're in great danger, along with every other student in Duel Academy...
