Yuji Naka to leave Sega?

Dragonair

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Weird. There must be some other reason behind it if it's true.

But no, they'll never rehire the old actors probably. If they do, I'll be quite glad, to say the least.

Not really. He really wasn't the fault for most fans complaints (despite my view on how fans influence the games...). The main person behind the 3-D series (Excluding Riders and Heroes) was Takeshi Iizuka so if anything blame Iizuka for your complains since he was the main one in charge of the 3-D series.

Not necessarily. He said that if he were to leave he still help Sega one way or another. He still help out the company if he were to leave. But if he does good luck. He made NiGHtS, and helped the ever popular Phantasy Star Online series and served as a guy to watch the development of all the newer Sonic games as well as being a programmer form them back then.

That and Dragonair...bit off topic but your sig is hillarious to say the least. The Norris fad has been pwned by paddles!

I personally don't think he's really leaving yet; he's very involved in the Next-Gen Sonic project that Sonic Team is working on. You kinda get that picture when he said that he wants the Next-Gen Sonic to give the player an incredible sense of speed, just like NiGHTS gives the player an incredible sense of flight. If he's really leaving, then I can only imagine someone must've got him PO'ed or something. 0_o

Thank god. I'm sick of Yugi Naka working on crappy Sonic games, when he could make great games like Sonic 1-3, when he is the lead director.

"Mr. Yuji Naka is alright." I wonder why he's going to leave. He created my favorite character, Knuckles. I wonder how the future sonic games are going to be.

That statement about Naka creating Knuckles is so wrong. Takeshi Yuda made Knuckles and cult classic games like Space Channel 5 and and now made Sonic Riders as well for a bonus.

Granted Iizuka needs to iron a few bugs but technically Naka was never director in the old days. Just a very good programmer. Iizuka I recall was one of the leading men making Sonic 3 and Knuckles so he aint all that bad. (Despite it being the fans fault for their complains...)

Actually, you'll find that Takashi Yuda is the guy behind Knuckles' creation.

Exactly how involved has Naka been with the more recent Sonic games, ie. the Advance series and 3D outings? I've never read into it as much as I should have.
Either way, I'm not entirely bothered by the news. It's not like the series can get any worse in this day and age. Hopefully this could hint towards some beneficial changes~

I don't know..Naka is the one who wants more of a classic style for Sonic while Iizuka is the one trying new things for Sonic...it can be either bad or good if he leaves or just the same as before. Naka's current position is producer right?

ACTUALLY... the Sonic francise IS already on the crap level to be honest. Atleast 3-D games-wise like Shadow the Hedgehog. >>;;; SA and SA2/B were the best 3-D games out IMO and then you have 'Rush which is trying to go back to its roots so that game is respectable too.

No Heroes was the crappyiest. Shadow fixed most of Heroes problems. And personally I rank riders up there with the first SA since it's been a long time I get a game where I replay over and over.

And technically...that's an opinion. I think I better get this topic for some to read from another board from VenomWolffang....

The concept of 'opinions' seem way over Sonic fan's heads

Oh. I don't really care about the staff just the games. I hope Sega won't mess up the future games.(ie Sonic Heroes *shudders*)

Yes he done it before. But it's possible isn't it Edward? I mean it sounds the man has grown tired lately from his work and decides he needs a change. Frankly I wish him the best if he does leavce and if he stays...well smae as before I suppose.
