Zapdos

Okay, I'm aiming for a Zapdos that has a high Special attack and speed IV's. But after looking over it's limited move choices, I was thinking of going for a high attack IV as well, and give it a lonely nature to boost it's average Attack stats.

Good or bad idea? And please give reasons as well.

If I recall, I've seen a cool set on Smogon that utilizes Hidden Power [Fighting]. That said, I do think that a Zapdos with a decent Attack IV isn't a bad idea, also since Zapdos's only other Special move type besides Electric ones are those provided by Hidden Power. And, he gets STAB on Drill Peck, which is nice indeed, and could do damage with a good IV.

Drill Peck is the best Physical move for zappy in-game. If you have XD try and go for a Modest/Timid one.

I do have XD, but I'm catching it for Leaf Green. The one in XD will be traded over to Emerald. Same thing with the other two birds.

Anyway, I was thinkind along the lines of:

Zapdos
Lonely nature (+Att,-Def)
Pressure

-Thunderbolt
-Thunder Wave
-Light Screen
-Drill Peck

Since it's base stat for attack is average, I thought I'd give it a boost. And since Rock isn't used very much, I thought lowering the Defense would be a good idea.

As for the moves, T-Bolt and Thunder Wave are there for obvious reasons, Drill Peck to round it out, and Light Screen for extra protection against Special Attacks.

The only thing I may have a problem with is physical sweepers.

But you are getting a Zapdos from XD, are you not?

I need to train a Roselia so i can get past an Ice Punching Quagsire in XD right now.
Roselia is a crappy Grass type. Ludicolo takes care of Quagsire and is not weak against Ice Punch.

Pressure

-Thunderbolt
-Thunder Wave
-Light Screen
-Drill Peck

Boost its Special Attack please (Mild or Rash Nature). Thunderbolt will be used much more than Drill Peck.

Lotad/Lombre/Ludicolo aren't shadow pokemon iirc. .-.

Yeah, they aren't...Roselia is pretty much the only Pokemon besides Shiftry who has Grass-type moves, by the time you reach Snattle anyways.
