When you have a horse, you need to jump over a fence. When you have an elephant, you simply run through it. It is like the boar of TP, only bigger and stronger. And imagine the costumisation options if they'll do the PH/ST costumisation. An elephant with demon armor. What is more bad-*** than that?

You pose a nice idea. And an elephant is a bit more... welcoming... than a boar is.
