I believe I am officially burned out. I was off work for 8 days starting with the release day and played several hours a day and over the past week I've only played a few hours. Maybe an hour or so every other day.

I mean, this game was massive in BotW and now it's even bigger.

There's a good reason why the Hero's Path marker has a limit of the last 256 hours.

Eh, ragazzo!
I might take a break from this game at some point, but I will gladly pick it up later on.

I really want to know what’s north/west of Death Mountain and Hyrule. Termina maybe?
Maybe it’s Labrynna and Holdrum? The game manuals for the Oracle games did say that they were neighboring lands next to Hyrule and Link could reach them by horseback.

There's no magic bullet for killing the Hands. If you're lucky enough to be cornered in an environment where you can get to higher ground, close enough to the Hands that they're still in arrow range not so far away that they despawn and leave you clumps of darkness poop, you can soften them up from a distance with Bomb Arrows, which do lots of good splash damage. Fighting them without being able to take potshots from a distance is a simple cycle of attack, break out, attack, break out, and heal. Having three to four of the Sage avatars out will help immensely. Regardless, once you defeat the Hands, the fight isn't over, so you will need Sundelion-infused food to help you recover your Gloom-sealed hearts before phase 2.

There is a sidequest that will require you to fight a set of the Hands in a contained arena in the Depths.

Just sounds like I need to get better at combat then. Can barely deal with two enemies at once without bomb arrows or red chu chu arrows.

Hey guys, anyone playing TotK?

I have been playing it and have covered a lot however I haven't beaten the game yet. In the depths, I found a Yoga Clan hideout and one of the Yoga Notebooks stated there was a large, one-eyed, four legged creature ready to swallow you who and that its luminous scales on its body were both a lure and a weak point. Does anyone know what creature this is? It can't be a Hinox... and Dondons have 2 eyes right?

It’s that giant frog that you might have ran into trying to get to the underground arena where you get the Autobuild Ability.

Finished Tears of the Kingdom! Good Hylia, that was a lot of exploration with a last hour gem-grinding that made me filthy rich. I played this game for over a month and yet it felt like there was no ending for a completionist.

The only things I didn't fully complete were getting over 500 of those missing Korok bastards, the compendium, and fully upgrading Link's spiffy wardrobe.

Not The Flux it seems. I originally thought that too but the ready to swallow whole did not apply.

As for the giant frog... yup. It was that. The Obsidian Frox. Have not encountered it yet.
It’s a nightmare. The thing just randomly attacked me even though I was far away from it to not see me and I’m so annoyed because I was forced to fight it because it kept chasing me and I was literally only one hit away from killing it after an hour of fighting it with extremely weak weapons and only eight hearts and needing to use up all my meals to keep healing myself when it killed me. I was so close to the Arena too which took me four hours to figure out where it was and I had to do everything from the start again.

Man, I wish I could like this game.

l have put in a dozen hours into TOTK, and I just feel overwhelmed. Maybe I just suck at games now or don’t have the patience, but all this gathering of resources and trying to build stuff and current gear getting broken and some of these enemies kicking my ass - all of it just feels like a grind. I’ve had a lot of fun at times and some of the exploring is nice, but I haven’t fallen in love with it. The Bioware RPG games with ensemble cast of NPCs are my favorites, and those are the games to which I gravitate.

Been playing BoTW lately because I’ve barely touched it and I wasn’t convinced to give $70 for a series I’m barely interested in. Definitely enjoying it outside of the weapon durability system

can't say i was ever too into botw, but thats probably just me being terrible at open world games, after all i had a terrible time personally navigating in legends arceus (that might be due to me being an idiot though, thats completely fair). my personal favorite was always a link between worlds, as i was always a huge fan of the worldbuilding. maybe thats pretty random lmao.

Funnily enough I just started playing ALBW a few days ago. Definitely my preferred format for Zelda

I think that the Swamp Palace is one of the best water themed dungeons in the series. I like the idea of using the Hookshot to maneuver a raft and turn faucets on and off and if find the animation of Link being pulled face first into a solid wall before becoming painting Link hilarious.

The new Zelda game is so rich. There are so many things to do.. I have almost 100 hours on it and I am not done with the main story.
Now that's how a game should be.
You can see how much love, care and work were done for this game.
Pokemon has ALOT to learn from these developers

They're two completely different games. No one needs to learn anything from another.
