Zelda speed runs

Well, this has always been one of my faviourite games, and I have wondered how fast someone completed it so I was looking over at SDA to see what the best speed run is, and it was just under 5 hours. I thought that this was pretty impressive, so I decided to look on the forums to see some of the things they used.

I was really suprides at all of the sequence breaking that was possible in this game. I mean, they hav managed to do it so that you can miss out 2 dungeons entirely in OoT, and in the MM one they did it so that you did the dungeons in a different order.

So, I started this thread to ask if anyone has ever done a speed run on a zelda game, and state their time. I would not consider my skills even close to theirs, and I thought that I was OK at MM, guess now. LOL

If you want speed runs, look at The Silent Assassin or TSA for short. I'm good friends with him on the Hylia and IGN.

His current record is three hours on Ocarina of Time and he's aiming for one hour. How, he does it... seeing really is believing, yet it's UNBELIEVABLE!!!

As someone who has broke the 5 hour mark, there is NO FREAKING WAY to break one hour. I don't care what he tries, no glitch will let him skip that much. No ammount of skill is breaking the space time continuum here, one hour is impossible.

One Hour!!! I have looked over at the at SDAF and he is aiming for something like sub 3.30 isnt he? I am sorry, but even if he missed 3 temples, there is no way for a sub 1 hour run. In fact, I do not even think that there is a way for a sub 2 hour run. But then again, they have this amazing route planned out and he is currently doing it. I cant wait to watch it all.

Metroid is not the game we are talking about here.

Oh, can anyone actually do any of those glitches in OoT and MM? I mean entering Snowhead early ar doing the shadow temple first?

I can do Shadow first, as I said, I can do a sub 5 hour run. As for MM, I have never even tried a speed run (or WW or anything else) so I can't enter Snowhead first.

There is this guy that is able to beat LttP within 3 minutes. It does require major glitch exploiting, but it is possible.

ANYBODY can do that, I have beaten it in 5, this is just complete glitches, really requires no skill (unlike OoT)

The OoT and MM speed runs require a LOT of skill. I mean, just watching those videos is great. I do not think I could ever get that good of a time, no where near.

Its very intresting, being a big fan of Zelda myself, however i could never amount to these times for gods sake, but could someone explain to me, How the bloody hell do you bomb jump I really like the idea of getting the Zoras and Gorons mask prematurly!
