Zip Files?

Ok So whenever I try to download a zip file, my computer just freezes up for four seconds and numerous Internet Explorer(even though firefox is my default browser) just keeps popping up and I don't get my downloaded file and I end up restarting my PC.

I have the latest Winzip. Why is this happening?

This is my first time and its been five days( I even edited by post to let people know I'm still waiting...) since anyone replied so I thought it was pretty reasonable. The infraction you gave me thus should have been only for the double post (or not). It's not like I was trying to raise my post count because you can't in this forum.

Yeah whatever...I'm not going to do this again...sorry.

On topic: My winzip was already installed on my PC. Any Zip file I download from anywhere gives me the aforementioned problem.

hmm...I can't take a screen shot because its just a *millions* of Internet Explorer popping up where I have to reboot my PC. And yes I have XP and I said that WinZip was already installed when it came.

And whats hijacking a browser mean and what causes it?

One problem: I "saved to disk" the file I downloaded as you just said just get it in my PC But it seems that it is another ZIP FILE lol.

So I start opening it and Internet browser again started popping up as usual. I need a way to download that program without the need of using Zip Files. :(

HUR HUR USER TITLE
Installing winrar would also be a good idea, since it can extract .rar and .zip files.

After doing that, you will never need to use Winzip ever again.

I uninstalled Winzip and firefox. But then it again doesnt work. Now the "Windows Installer comes up" when i try to download zip files.

Would it help to format everything?

EDIT: IT WORKS! Finnaly. I switched to WinRar and it works! omg. i'm so happy lol.
