I love the titles that I come up with >_>

Just got finished with my latest picture. Don't know where I got the idea.
dogblue.png

At first I had colored it like a normal dog, but then I took a look at it and decided: "That's so boring!" I'm an artist, my job is to take the imagination and put it on paper. Sure I can do realism, but surrealism is where my heart truly lies. So I decided to color the dog blue, give him a red nose, and make the eyes yellow :p There's no fun with plainess unless you make it interesting.

I really don't like my shading, or lack thereof, and my outlines are too messy (as well as some of my lines). Some of the areas are too dark and cover up detail. I have to admit it, I can't shade worth a dime, I muchly prefer doing it in pencil as opposed to CG. But, yet I couldn't be able to call myself an artist if I didn't try my hand at everything out there and skillfully master it :p

Anatomy-wise I think that I did pretty well, but the back leg is too long and its loner than the front legs, which is ill-proportioning on my part. I outlined all of the major muscles and skeletal detail. Well, either way my style is still in the developing stages, I don't know where I am yet or what I consider my technique to be in this area :/

More old pictures if you're interested (some of you have seen them):

I like it. It has that...alieny-evilly looky thingy on it. I wonder what inspired you to create this?

BTWs. Your mushroom pic makes me laugh. I love it so much!

P.S. If your asking why I find mushrooms funny...don't ask. I have a weird morbid humor.

Anyways,

3.5 bananas for the dog image

Thanks Jieno-san :D *takes bananas*

The reason why I decided to do the dog in these colors is because it looked so boring being normal. Realism gets a little tiring after a while, so I had to go back to my roots-surrealism and fantasy.

I drew a picture of a dog, because I love dogs, but that's about it, other than that I have no other reason as to why I did this. It was sort of on impulse. But, yeah, I was going for the whole mutant, anlien-like type :p

Your sense of humor is almost as twisted as mine.

Why thank you for your ego builder >:]

But I think that my art is far from perfect. It lacks greater detail and shading, and I must reiterate that I did mess up a plethora of my lines (so scratchy and messy). I'm fond of the color choice, but my lack of skills in the area of shading is what makes me look at thise picture and go "Blah, just another CG to take up memory on my CPU"

Despite how I feel, I am please to know that you find it this good from your perspective :3 Although, I am open to criticisms, if you see a problem from your view, then by all means feel free to point it out. I do listen in this area, unlike all others XP

*takes bananas* If I get anymore, I'll turn into a monkey @_@

Where'd you learn how to draw muscles that accurately?

When I saw the coloration and fuzzy shading it reminded me of a cloud.
This is off topic but every psycho needs to watch the Berserk Anime Series.

Its not as accurate as it may appear, however, there is a trick to it. All you need to do is outline all of the major defined muscle and bone areas such as: The ribs, calfs, chest, and face (this type of dog has a droopy and saggy like face). I had a book to guide me. It also helps to pick up sketching books, taking anatomy classes, and practice drawing the animal's skeleton.

I just like drawing animals. They were among the first things that I drew as a child, so I've always been fond of them, and sharpened my skills over time.

The shading does seem sort of daydream-like, blurry. Yet, I still hate it :/

I love it. As said, the muscles were drawn accurately and all the features are drawn with detail.

The only thing that bothers my eye is the colors-they look too bright. But I think it's just me. ^^

I love your other artworks as well. I can't wait to see more from you. ^^
