I beat Ho-oh with my level 51 Wailord & I didn't befriend it, what gives?

Absurdity
Your team size 'gives'. Wailord has a size or **** and Ho-Oh has a size or ****, you can only have ******* weight on your team, and you may not have his friend area, Rainbow Peak. Check Wigglytuff, then go through the dungeon with either 2 *, 1 *, or 1 **.

You get ranbow peak when you recrute ho-oh. Also, your size is too big.

I had the same problem, I completely forgot about the siz and I couldn't figure out why it wouldn't join me...
