Different Positions

When Munchlax is evovling and battling he is in two different positions.

I don't know its weird there is even different shading. Maybe there will be evovling motions.

Yeah, I thought of that too. But there could be different sprites, like for evolution or something.

That's probably more likely than having two different sprites for one game.

I'd say that Diamond and Pearl have different sprites. I much rather the sleeping one though.

Just because the first 3 sprites revealed for gender are pretty much the same doesnt mean all will be

i think its different for each version. either that, or the happy one wasnt the real one. since the original screens were released, the HP bar has changed shape, so...

While entirely possible, it's improbable in my eyes. Gamefreak has a reputation for including what I like to call "half-features"... like the animations in Emerald. They were cool, but they mostly involved stretching a static sprite... so it really became an annoyance. So while the gender differences are cool, and a great idea... I really don't expect them to delve much deeper into it.

Isn't the simple answer that snorlax's sprite will be sitting on the groud like that so this probably has to do with the way how muchy becomes snorlax ( maybe you have to put it to sleep or something, its eyes are closed). So this position has nothing to do with munchlax but with snorlax his sprite

The evolving sprite looks very clear, too clear, compared to the other Munchlax-sprite. Makes me wonder if it is even real.. It might be just a really clear screen. And would they post false-pics? Ok, it's hard to guess now. We just have to wait and see.

I figure that there'll be up to 3 differant sprites for most of the Pokémon.

snorlax would look out of proportion if it sat down in the same position as munchlax. and its unlikely that the female version is the one on its ***. (since the battling one is male)

The one sitting's ears look bigger and wider spread but it may just be the angle. I think it will end up being one a Diamond sprite and one Pearl. I can hope for animated evo's though..

Well, I think either it is the other version's sprite, or the other gender.

I agree with this too. But the new Munchlax sprite isn't that much greater than the older one. Although I do like it better.

So there are 4 possibilities, different sprites in diomand and pearl, evolving sprites (I find this the most likely, because the eyes closed looks weird for a battle), different gender, the old one has been redone

I agree about evolution animation. The feet stickig out like reminds me a lot of snorlax, and I could just imagine munchlax leaning back and evolving into a snorlax almost as if going to sleep.
