EXPLOSION!!!
Is it just me or is Firefox getting worse and worse with every release?
I recently installed the newest version to my freshly reformmated computer/ And after being online 5 minutes it crashes and even disables my internet connection untill I restart.

All existing browser suck anyway...
But it's just getting rediculus as of now.
I used firefox from 2005 to early thjis year when it started giving me problems.
At first I thought it was just the computer. Now I can see that that was only part of the problem...

This sucks... Not so much asking for tech help as I am asking for a reccomendation for a good browser. (DOn;t even mention Opera or Chrome, I hate them both. And Safari... It wants me to install I tunes... Which is gonna totally hijack all of my media from my current settings...)

You ask for a good browser and tell us not to recommend Opera or Chrome, with some hate for Firefox? You deserve to get recommended Internet Explorer and use it.

Well, as above said, you ruled out the alternative browsers except for IE which I'm guessing you're not going to use since you're trying to use Firefox.

But really, Firefox shouldn't be disabling internet connections. I don't think it even can so it does sound more like a problem with your computer. I know you said freshly reformatted but maybe it's a hardware problem.

Personally, I think Firefox is getting better with every release. More stable, secure and fast. Also new features.

So really you want people to recommend you IE. That or use the 2005 version of Firefox that wasn't giving you any problems.

Assuming you're using the same computer that you had five years ago the problem is likely your computer, not the browser. If you keep using the newest version of a browser without doing much upgrading to your Hardware it may reach a point where your computer can't properly run the browser or any other modern software for that matter. In that case you should try an older version of Firefox to see if it preforms better. Older versions of the software isn't too hard to find.

Asking for a modern alternative won't do you much good. A large amount of modern alternative browsers use an existing major browser's engine as a base. Take the previously recommended K-melon for example. It's running the same engine as Firefox.

My intel pentium 4 with 1.60Ghz agrees with you, chugging away louder then a train station.
