Hello to all I am new here and i was wondering, is breeding the best way to get shiny pokemon? I have i have hatched over 100 magikarp eggs, trying to get a shiny one, and i am still hatching them. Any advice would be appreciated.

This is my team Help me fix it or give advice
I have played pokemon games ever since red and blue version first came out. I never really played competitive so i still don't know much but i am trying to be somewhat good.
Can you Help me with this team that i have assembeled. I still haven't leveled them up to 100 yet so don't just say to level them up

  2. If you want your team rated, you should post a thread here.
  3. The chances of finding a shiny are always 1/8,192, via breeding or otherwise. However, shinyness is something NOT determined from the moment you receive the egg, so you could just reset every time it hatches.

^Okay, that is just plain breaking the rules. You should know that saying that (especially in someone's welcome thread, where at least 2 mods will DEFINITELY see) isn't the wisest thing to do. I advise editing that from your post.

After Reading this, i hot 5 magikarp eggs in my inventory. Saved. The i hatched and reset and repeated this process 4 times. I get the exact same Magikarp, Abilities, stats, everything........couincidence i think not i estimated the odds, and there is no way this could happen unless everything is chosen when you receive the egg....unless shinyness is the olny thing that breaks this trend

(some spelling may have errors)

^Everything except being a shiny is determined the moment you get the egg. Being a shiny is totally random. You should read this to clear up any questions you have about shinies and such.

Also, this isn't the place to discuss this. This is only a welcome thread. This also serves as a place to ask questions about the forums and stuff that you may have as a new member here. Look around the forum. I'm sure you'll find the answers to many things if you just search. :)
