question about evolution

can pokemon evolve in the red and green version by affection? like is a golbat capable of evolving to a crobat? and if it can, where can you go to check its friendship status? if this is already posted somewhere, my bad for not looking hard nuff.

Yes, they can. The only exception is Eevee. Since there is no clock in FireRed/LeafGreen to distinguish night and day, you cannot evolve Eevee into Umbreon or Espeon. You can check the happiness of your Pokemon with Daisy, your rival's sister, in Pallet Town.

Correct, but you need the national dex coz without it won't happen.

You need to beat the Elite Four to get the National Dex.

to make this a lil more linear... yes you can get all friendship evolutions to work except eevee's (since their is no clock in fr/lg)... to do eevee's you'll have to trade it to an emerald, ruby, or saphire.
In order to do the friendship evo's, you'll have to beat the elite 4 and then obtain the national dex, gain the correct friendship rating, then level the pokemon up 1 level.
