I'm going to start a fic soon. it's about a boy who goes to a pokemon battle academy to learn how to be a trainer. I was thinking about giving him a Chimecho for a "starter" but didn't know if it was too powerful.
what do you think

Well, Chimecho are not seen as very powerful ingame or otherwise. You should be safe. Just remember not to make yourself too powerful.

Chimecho are extremely rare though, that's another problem, just not a pokemon that's too strong. So yeah, that's the only problem with Chimecho.
