Revamp problem

Okay, I have been wanting to try out revamping, but whenever I place a newer sprite next to an old sprite so i can start revamping the colours on the newer sprite get messed up. Is there a way to fix this?

Look on the tutorial pages, you'll find a good one about almost anything! It should help you out, or PM an experienced spriter if that doesn't help
