What is the point of the Everstone? When a pokemon evolves, you can just press the "B" Button!

Well, most people don't want to sit there and continually press B every time it gains a level. I may be wrong, but I think it also prevents Pokemon from evolving through a trade. It just makes things easier when people want to level up something without evolving it.

Its for the lazy overweight people who play pokemon that just dont have the strength to hit B. You can't even sell them for much. It's a waste of an item.

Nny

Yeah, about that...
Ever thought of when you trade a pokemon? You know they evolve and you can't stop. (Or so I believe) Also what if you accidently used a stone on the wrong pokemon? For example, Eeeve, it can evolve in many ways throught stones and a little mistake can ruin it. Also isn't it faster to make it hold it so you don't have to puch B?

Well, I was just thinking, but I think it the B button trick was orginally a "Cheat" or "Secret" and still is, but everyone knows about it.

Nah. There's a part in the games that tells you about pressing B to stop the evolution. The theory is that it startles the Pokemon, and stops it's evolution.

Also, Kudos to everyone else for repeating what I said. :p

Yes. It is essential for breeding. Attach it to the female to have a 50% chance of passing the nature onto the offspring. You'd have known this had you just looked around. ¬¬

And how many times a year does this thread pop up? -_-

It's A) If you don't want your pokemon to evovle through a trade. B) for lazy people who don't want to press the 'B' button every time their pokemon levels up. C)It's essential in the breeding process.

Well, if you attach the everstone to your female pokemon or ditto, you may get a 50% chance to have the newborn pokemon to inherit either nature of its parents.

What's with the "lazy" thing? It doesn't make someone lazy to not want to press B 94 times during the process of leveling up. It's called convenience.

So, is it a secret that it helps to breed. My game says, "A stone that prevents evolution"
So the breeding think is a secret?

Nah. It's told someplace in the game. Most anything like that has a clue or something someplace in the game for those playing to figure it out.

It only works in Emerald, so they didn't change it's description to save confusion.

Well, I guess the answer is solved. Everyone is saying the same thing. Thanks everyone!

Not only that, but it takes a good 10 or 20 seconds of your time to go through the "It's starting to evolve" and "It stopped evolving" messages. Trust me, when it comes to leveling in RPGs, even that little bit of time is precious.

Yup, It helps with breeding in Emerald. Its used to save time (Loading the evolving sceneeach level) and used for lazy people. I think its a great item for people who want to keep their younger pokemon.

>> Such ingrates. That stone helped me breed my Camerupt, Ninetales, Skarmory, Xatu, and Donphan (although Apu and Lakshmi have different natures than their mommas)
