Free talking about any kind of iPods and mp3s, mainly, but I'd need assistance.
My father gave me an iPod Suffle to me for Christmas present, and now I've finally learned how to use it but I'm having serious troubles with recharging the battery. It just wont charge. I'm using a laptop and there is only one USB port. I can't understand where is the problem because in Apple's homepage they said (and in the manual, too) that it takes at least 2 hours to 80% load and about 4 hours to full load. My iPod suffle has been connected to this laptop for four days and the battery LED is red (really low charge). I'm really helpless with this and I don't have even the slighest clue what's the problem.

iPod Shuffle SUCKS. I bought one because I thought they were cool, but now I haven't used it in a month and I want to sell it. I hate how there aren't any adapters you can buy to charge it in the wall. iPod Nano or Mini are way nicer. Anyways, you should be able to charge it in your computer for the full four hours and it should work and last. Maybe you have a defective shuffle or something?

The USB port you're plugging it into probably isn't powered. Try plugging it into a desktop computer (most, if not all USB ports built into computers are powered. Beware external hubs and splitters, however) to see if it works then. If it does, your laptop's USB port isn’t powered and so the Shuffle won't work with it.

I'm not completely sure about this, but you may also have to leave the computer on for it to work (I'm 90% certain of that, however have had no experience with charging via USB) so also be sure that you're actually leaving the laptop on while charging.

EDIT: Oh, to Geki, the Apple online store does sell wall plug to USB adapters that work with all their current products (seeing as they all charge through USB now...). I do agree that the Shuffle isn't the best MP3 player, but then again I also think all iPods aren't the best MP3 players. Go Cowon iAudio X5! The best MP3 player no one's ever heard of!
