Im currently raising a pichu, but i want it to evolve. Does pokemon gain "freindship/happiness points" by never battleing and just leveling up by exp share?

that will work but there are some items that help it gain freindship also.

I'm pretty sure it does. It also gains happiness by staying in your party and walking around.

It may. Not really sure. You have to let it battle a lot if you want it to have happiness. Don't forgot about grooming, items, keep in party, daycare center...those all increase happiness.

Sothe bell. it raises The hapiness when you battle with it.

The vitamins (HP up, protein, zinc etc) also raises Hapiness.
