You cant trade say like Johto Pokemon over to Emerald without having the National Dex can you?

If you can, couldnt you get around this by trading an egg version of the Johto pokemon (or other pokemon that dont appear without the national dex) to emerald?

no. you can't. emerald won't let you trade eggs till you have the nationaldex

yap, you cannot trade kanto and johto pokemons without you can't get national dex. You can trade hoenn Pokemons before you have national dex
