Snatch?

I never really could figure out what the move snatch does...

I read the attackdex for it and it still doesn't help me understand exactly what it does...

could someone explain it to me... and give me an example where it would be useful

Snatch steals the move opponent is going to use, but this just works for stat boosting moves, like Calm mind, Dragon dance, Growth, etc.

It won´t work with attacks which does damage + stat up, like Meteor mash.

Pokemon1 used snatch
Pokemon2 used Calm Mind

would pokemon1 get a boost and pokemon2 wouldn't?

if it snatches one move does it need to reuse snatch to snatch another?

Gardevoir used calm mind
Sableye used Snatch
Sableye´s S.attack and S.defense grew!
~~~~ End of turn.

It´s a good attack when you have a premonition!

And no, you can´t snatch snatch.

that's pretty much the gist of it.

as for what moves are snatchable... well, basically attacks that don't affect the opponent (by damage or stat altering)... perhaps it should be a game mechanic on that?

dont use barrier and then then snatch like this in a double battle
Umbreon(yours) used snatch!
Espeon(also yours) used barrier!
Umbreaon snatched it!
...or something along those lines. point is, umbreon wasted a turn and PP to snatch benefits it wouldve gotten anyways. Made me feel pretty stupid.
