Syncronize question

I need to know if it's possible to predetermine the nature of a legendary by fighting it with a syncronize trait Pokemon.
For example:
Would a timid Gardevoir with syncronize have a better chance at attracting a timid Ho-oh?

A pokemon with synch has a higher chance of attracting the same nature pokemon anywhere in the game but ONLY IN EMERALD.
pokemon ruby, saphire, fire red, or leaf green will not work doing this

I think it only works on wild pokemon and not the legendaries as I tried already with all the regi pokemon.
