Say you were in the dessert and a trapinarch with arena trap came, could a smoke ball let you run? Or you the ability trap you?

I think the arena trap wouldn't allow you to use the smoke ball.

the purpose of the smoke ball would be to try and work around anything an be able to escape. I'm not sure that it would be 100% effective but i bet it would work at least part of the time.

I'm pretty sure of it that you can escape.

If there was a pokemon like that in the pyramid, (I don't know if there is) and you get like a fluffy tail, would you be able to run if your pokemon are weak?

there's an entire round in the pyramid (round 6, maybe) where all they have is trappers. wobbuffet, wynaut, diglett/dugtrio/trapinch with arena trap, and (i think) some mean lookers.

anyway, just tried it. i equipped my tracing gardevoir with a smoke ball, and went into the desert. i ran into a trapinch:

wild trapinch appeared!
go! gardevoir!
gardevoir traced wild trapinch's ARENA TRAP!
(select "run")
gardevoir fled using its smoke ball!

yep, it works.
