Mods feel free to close this if it shouldn't exist.
Attacks can be rather tricky for amateur writers to describe. It can really ruin an otherwise beautiful story. That is why I created this. If you've read the pokemon encyclopedia you'll know how this works. Simply reserve an attack you'd wish to write about and then post it in this thread, I will then link to it in the first post. Read this post first before writing/ reserving an attack.
You may feature any pokemon in your description as long as the attacker can use the attack in question.

If you use any of the entries to help in your writing, please only use it for inspiration and do not copy it word for word. Please give credit as well, especially if you use it for a lot of inspiration.

You don't have to write for this little project either, you can help us by reviewing some of the entries.

I hope this can be as succesful as the Pokemon encyclopedia. So what are you waiting for?

Um .. this seems a bit redundant- I mean most attacks are displayed in 3-d in Colo/ColoXD, in the manga, in the anime, and people can use their own imaginations. I admit while I'm not to elated about the Pokemon En. it could be a good feature for newbie writers, could. But an attack dex? I mean we know Leech Seed basically entraps a pokemon slowly/quickly, depending on the pokemon's level I assume, for both the foe and the one using the attack, and it imobilizes them while sucking out their health/energy. As we know flamethrower is a burning jet of flame thrown out of the target.

And attacks depend on pokemon and on generation of game, Charmander threw out embers from it's mouth anime wise, but Stadium wise it sent embers out with it's tail.

I don't like this idea.


First of all, the way an attack is portrayed can NOT ruin a story. It can only make a story look cooler, but if the attack isn't pulled off well, it won't break the fic.

Second, not everyone described certain attacks the same way. Personally, I like it that way, because authors can feel free to interprut the attacks however they want. It's always interesting to see how other people imagine attacks to look like, and I enjoy the diversity.

So third, I don't want to see everyone portraying all the attacks the exact same way. Why should ONE person set the standard for a given attack for everyone else?



So, sorry, but I'm against this whole project. *gives a thumbs down*

I don't think this could work out... You cannot create an attack encyclopedia for attacks because it would work differently for different Pokemon. Also all the articles would be really short and this wouldn't be anything like the Pokemon Encyclopedia...
