If this thread is not allowed, go ahead and close it. This is different from the Funny Nicknames thread in that all nicknames are wanted here.

Basically, you can share the names of members of your team(s), including your Starter and your partner. I know many people choose not to name their members, except for their Starter, but I know some people decide to. You can also--if you want to--explain why you gave your Pokemon that name.

You can also ask for suggestions on what to nickname a Pokemon if you want to, and anyone can suggest ideas.

Here's two of mine:

Pikachu (starter) - Kesshi (Japanese for "hero")
Torchic (partner) - Hisaki (Japanese for "flames")

My names are eccentric, sometimes internet found, made up in my head or just completely awesome.

Rajani - 'the dark one' in Sanskrit. Dunno how it works for Torterra but. Ehehe.
Emme - Cute and simple, my partner. Blaziken now.
Ironhide - Transformers! Too bad she's a girl.
Radiance and Luminous - My Ho-Oh and Lugia names. ^^
Saia and Aeos - Made up on ze spot for my Latias and Latios.
Borealis and Rumble - Regice and Regirock ^^ They sorta fit.
Megatron - My Giratina. Small resemblance, eh?
Conundrum - Dialga, rawr! :3

Snorlax- Munchy ( I really didn't care about originality >.> ) -Starter
What I call him- Asno Gordo ( Fat *** in Spanish. XD )

Raichu- Raichu ( Couldn't think of anything at the time, I was in a hurry to start the game. ) -Partner
What I call him- Cárguese ( Mean's Zap in Spanish. )

Heatran- UberFroggy ( Meh, I like this one. )
What I call him ( Sometimes ): Anfibio Volcánico ( I SOMETIMES call him this, but sometimes I just call him UberFroggy because it's long. Mean's Volcanic Amphibian in Spanish.

Manaphy- Prince
What I call him ( sometimes ): Señor de Mar ( I call him Prince regularly, but I seem to call him this more than I do Prince. Mean's Sea Lord in Spanish.

I lost the game?!?!
OK this is extremely weird and I don't know anything:
I got a Kangstan(how do u spell it) and I named it Gordon after Gordon Ramsay then I talk to it and I realised it's a girl!!!
For the others I just named them after people I know, famous people or cartoon/anime characters and I let my friend name my Moltres Natsume(I wonder who that is).

In PMD1, I always just combined 2 random words associated with the pokemon to make the nickname, like RazorLeaf for a Chikorita or OnionHead for Meditite (I think I was on a sugar high when I came up with that one).

In PMD2, I stopped nicknaming because my nicknaming tactics seemed ridiculous. Instead, I've just given my main team members nicknames to call them in my head (all of them are just parts of their Japanese names):

Delcatty-Koro (Enekoro)
Raichu-Rai(Raichu)
Mew-Myuu(Myuu)
Froslass-Yuki(Yukimenoko)
