Hmm, this is basically a thread to post recommendations on things. Songs, bands, movies, tv shows, games, software, etc. Just nothing about Pokemon teams or local restaurants...

Let's see... I recommend the movie Monty Python's Life of Brian. This was a hilarious satire of the life of Jesus and one of my all-time favorite movies.

This is a good idea:

Here's an idea, instead of it being a thread for essentially shouting into the wind and hoping someone hears, how about we make it so that if your looking for something you ask here, and the good people of sppf help them out.

For example;
poster a: I want music similar to metallica
poster b: try megadeth or slayer

I know it's a pretty obvious example, but gets the point across. It can be anything from music, to whats the best John Hughes film, to recommend me a FPS that isn't this, this or this.
People ask, and then someone quotes them (to avoid confusion) and gives their answer/opinion.
We could then ask to get it stickied at the top so people know where it is.

what does everyone think of that?

So, you heard him. You don't have to necessarily recommend something; you can ask for recommendations on a specific thing if you want.

I spelled recommendations wrong about 10 times while writing this

Mmm, I'm not surprised. Bacon is really good with syrup, so I can see why waffles and ham would be delicious

I recommend playing the game Dante's Inferno. I just completed my third playthrough of it and each time I discover new things. Not recommended for a younger audience, though. Gave my little brother nightmares. Oh, also, you see a woman's breasts in this game multiple times, and at one point you can kind of see the left half of her vagina. So again, not recommended for younger audiences.

Talking of spelling recommendation on the first post, I'm horrendous for it, I seem to have some sort of mental block when it comes to words with double consonants. I usually double the wrong letter and the right one, or just double the wrong one, and single the right one.

Hmm, I might get shot for saying this, but... Skrillex is a great artist. His songs aren't as trance-y as deadmau5, and I haven't heard a ton of Daft Punk, but I think you'll like him. Or you could always try Nero, they're just as awesome

Have you watched Life of Brian? It's sort of like 300... But it's a comedy. It's about the same general time period (a long time ago), and there are Romans in it..

Bon Iver? Well that's indie folk, right?
Indie folk bands include the Decemberists and the Avett Brothers, both of which are incredible. Check them out.
(Now keep in mind, I Googled Bon Iver to find their genre of music, but I know for a fact the Avett Brothers and Decemberists are great bands, and they were on the Wikipedia article for indie folk.)

Maybe it's just me, but I've always found the Black Keys really similar to the White Stripes, and I'm not just saying that because they're opposite colors.

I recommend Homestar Runner for comedy on the internet, its funnier than CollegeHumor or Red vs. Blue IMO. It was really popular in 2003, it seems everyone has forgotten about it.
