A hail of laser fire ripped past me as the assembled soldiers opened fire. Heavy weapons fire exploded all around us, with mortars blowing chunks of earth thirty or forty feet straight up. A crack echoed across the field as someone wielding an Artillery Rifle, a strange hybrid of a sniper and a mortar, opened fire, the shot blasting half a dozen wretched to shrapnel. I could hear Knights ordering the rest of our force to stand back and let us fight. Just before the enemy reached us, I opened fire with my pistol, killing several of Wretched.

With a wordless roar, I hit the lines of the Abyss, sword flashing. I was hardly concerned with being wounded; my armor provided ample protection, so these standard soldiers where not much of a concern. Those things that could hurt me were on the fringes of the force, away from my path.

I absently parried a blow from a skeletal foe, before decapitating it with ease. I took a snap shot hitting another square in the back, his torso disintegrating as the laser bolt struck home. Diving into the enemy, I punch one, blasting his chest out, while slashing three more in half. I fired off four shots, killing four more.

Our soldiers where gathering at the gates, firing shots into the crowd of Abyssal soldiers who still managed to get past me, and the rest of Squads One and Two. As hundred of these infernal things poured past me, heading for the gates, Knights ordered that all focus be placed on them. I could not follow what was happening however, I had foes to kill.

Spinning full circle with my blade extended to clear some space to move, I found myself facing a zombie like Haxorus. The creature wielded a battleaxe and with a scream lunged towards me. I dodge to the right, and shot the thing in the head. With wide sweeping strokes, I pushed forwards, occasionally shooting an opponent. In this manner, I ended up stepping clean out of the enemy lines. Finding myself standing behind the enemy’s main force, I took a brief second to take in the situation.

The Circle of Seven was locked in a desperate battle near the massive siege engine, which was turned nose up in the ground. Behind me, the Wretched had managed to hit our lines, but so far they seemed to be holding. However, what really caught my attention was standing back from the slaughter.

Standing back away from the assault force, and simply watching the gruesome and desperate battle near the siege engine. A feral smile crept onto my face. Slaughtering cannon fodder had done little to sate my lust for battle, but I had a feeling that this monster would be an excellent fight. Somewhere it eh back of my head, I knew I should wade back threw the carnage and assist my soldiers, but my natural instincts were calling out for a battle, and that battle would not be had behind me.

Boldly, I advanced on the Nidoking, who was simply standing back, watching the show as it where. I settled my energy blade into a comfortable grip, tightened my hold on my pistol, before doing something stupid.

With a wordless howl of rage, I charged right at the monster, sword held behind me. I at least had the forethought to fire half a dozen shots from my laser pistol, however only two were even close to one target, the others flying wildly past my newfound opponent.

OoC: I was thinking of them just coming in on transport helicopters, but then I remembered the song Ride of the Valkyries and I had inspiration.

Alec "Rush" Garadian
Liberty's Crusade, Knight
In Route to Talacola, Hyand, Kokoro

Alec looked around at the troops around him. He wondered how many were going to die by the end of the day; hopefully none, but with an enemy as ruthless as the Abyss, that isn't likely. Suddenly a message popped up on his visor telling him he had an incoming call. Right, this thing had a communications device built in.

"This is Garadian."

"Garadian, this is Blue Squadron. Haraldin ordered us to escort you and your battalion to Talacola."

"Escort?"

"Look outside"

Alec looked up to the cockpit, which the door to it was open, and saw several attack helicopters flying to the sides of the transport helicopters.

"You like it? Our engineers just built enough of them to make a squadron out of them, having an army of demons invade really shifted them into full gear."

Maybe we stand a chance after all... Alec thought to himself as he watch the attack helicopters get into formation with the transport ones.

~~~
"There it is, Talacola!" The pilot shouted back to everyone in the helicopter. "Looks like some of their airborne forces have already begun to attack! Hold on to your hats ladies and gentlemen, we're going in!"
OoC: Basically think of this scene http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gz3Cc7wlfkI but the helicopters are shooting at demons in the sky instead of soldiers and buildings on the ground.
As the attack helicopters soared overhead, shooting chain guns and heat seeking missiles at demon Pokemon in the sky, the transport helicopters landed in the town square at the center of town. As the last soldiers piled out of the transport helicopters, they took off again to assist the other helicopters, because just because they were meant for transport doesn't mean they can't have guns too.
"So where is the Abyss?" One of the soldiers said.
"Not here yet." The soldiers turned and saw an elegant looking Lilligant standing nearby. "I normally wouldn't contemplate using flying machines of death, but these are...extraordinary times."
"Who are you?" Another soldier asked.
"I am Syritina, queen of the Jade Alliance. My forces were split into two groups, our main force went here to prepare it for invasion, while we sent a secondary force to slow the Abyss down. However, although it appears they have thus far succeeded in slowing them, I am worry for their well-being. Have you brought engineers with you to help prep the defenses?"
A couple of the soldiers stepped forward, most of them carrying some sort of pack or case, most likely full of their supplies.
"Good. I require some of you to bring back our other force, as we have stalled them long enough for reinforcements to arrive and for us to prepare our defenses."
Alec stepped forward, to show that he was in charge. "Right. Me and a few of my troops will go and bring them back. We'll bring them back in one piece."
Alec received another call. "Yes?"
"This is Blue Squadron leader. The flying forces have been routed. We can assist in the battle, but we're going to need to head back to base and refuel first, we can't stay in the air forever."
"Alright. Just get back soon, the Abyss will be here any minute now."
Alec turned back to his battalion, as the helicopters soared overhead and started heading back the way they came from. "Alright, who's coming with me to bring the secondary force back?"
OoC: Do you think I went overboard with this? :/
Serron Star-Gazer the Serperior
Utopia Batallions: Divine Sage
Liberty Station, Karan, Kokoro
When the news of the attack starting, I quickly rushed to where my contingent of Stalwart Skystriders so that the defenders have a better chance of success; lucky for me, I was able to find the rest of my forty-eight soldiers in the barracks, already preparing for battle.
“Everyone! Quickly, outside, the Abyss is attacking as we speak!” I shouted upon entering the barracks.
“Everyone move now! That’s an order! We will wait inside the compound, that way, when the Wretched and Scourge pour in, we can slaughter them quickly!” General Vayron shouted after I finished.
“Sir Yes sir!” was their response.
I quickly slithered up onto the top of the battlement just in time to see the fun of the battle when the Circle of Seven contingent took down a massive siege engine and taking out a few of the Wretched at the same time. In the midst of the confusion, I decided that my intervention would cause more havoc among the Abyss army. I bowed my head and started to begin chanting a phrase that would destroy a large amount of the Wretched. After thirty seconds of chanting, my Arceus medallion glowed bright white and a beam should out of it, destroying more of the approaching cannon fodders. Off in the distance, standing behind the approaching army; I saw what could only be this task force’s leader, a large Nidoking with skulls impaled into the spikes, looking down at my contingent of Skystriders, I chuckled and said “Well, it appears our scout was right, it is a Fallen leading this army, and the sheer power coming out of him is stronger than any Fallen I’ve seen, this will be… interesting to say the least.”
“Nothing we can’t handle Serron! We’ve dealt with the Abyss enough on our expeditions into their realm, where they have home field advantage, here, the defenders are better prepared.” Saraton stated.
“Agreed, but I doubt they will be strong enough to kill this Fallen without high casualties.”
“Isn’t that why WE are here, to insure that doesn’t happen?”
“It is, but we also do not want these Liberty Crusaders to become dependent on us, this is their war more than ours.”
“I see your logic, but we can still protect them.”
“I never said we weren’t; we just aren’t going to big brother them.”
On that note, I released another purge into the Wretched, on my benefit, some buffer tunnels to stop the siege engine gave way and many more of the Wretched fell into the deep trench and either died from my holy fire or was trampled upon from their own.
“Sir, with all due respect, we should probably get the five hundred Skystriders at Capo, that will surely help us right now!” Saraton beckoned.
“I concur, send a messenger and two soldiers with him, they cannot die!”
“I will go and we will be back as soon as possible,” Saraton offered.
“And what will you have the rest of us do?” Vayron asked.
“We can probably take the cannon fodder, and it will leave ammunition for the Crusaders to take down the tougher Abyssal denizens, I saw you go out there and attack, I will stay back here and use my powers to send them back to the Abyss.”
A cry to Arceus was shouted into the air followed by a war cry and the forty-seven Stalwart Skystriders charged onto the battlefield, each equipped with weapons of Utopia do to maximum damage to all Abyssal creatures. I laid down on the battlements, closed my eyes, and focused all my spiritual energy from myself and the medallion to send a shockwave out into the battlefield and hopefully cripple most of the oncoming force. Minutes passed until I finally rose and when I did, the medallion glowed with its usual blinding light and a wall of flame spewed outward and destroying most of the front line and knocking back some of the Wretched behind them.
Kraxel the Bisharp
Utopia Battalion: Celestial Starchasers
Sunmar, Hyand, Kokoro
“You, Bisharp. Look, I don't know why the heavens above are stepping into this war, but I will tell you this. I don't appreciate others, alive or dead, trying to recruit my men without my permission. I didn't rebuild Roaring Thunder to have it take orders from anyone but me or my successors. If the word is that Utopia is stepping in and helping, then you will answer to me if you want my men. I expect results, and I can trust my 'mon to give me those results. You, I don't know. If you want Roaring Thunder's help, you prove your mettle to me before I decide to lend aid. I hope you take that into account before you continue.”
“Clearly the fate of your world means nothing to you mortal,” I growled at the cocky Sceptile. Without even caring to respond, the Sceptile just walked off, most likely back to his head quarters.
“What would you have us do Kraxel?” Zyond questioned.
“To hell with this kid, if he won’t allow his soldiers to help us, other will, I am sure the Crusaders at the human base south west of here will join, and I am sure we can rally some of the common folk around here, people will join our cause, it is inevitable.”
“I see your logic in that, but are we just going to turn our back on the Roaring Thunder?”
“Of course not, this kid wants results, we can show results without his help, and if the Abyss comes to Sunmar, he will be back, everyone breaks eventually.”
“I hope you’re right Kraxel.”
“I dealt with the defenses at Scarwell, Tariq and I rallied the civilians quickly, I know how these situations work, in times of war, EVERYONE will look for a leader, and we are from Utopia, we divine to mortals, who better to rally an army and attack the Abyss at their throats then us?”
“Good point, but I have a feeling Roaring Thunder’s leader will be hard to sway to our cause.”
“He will help in time, I guarantee it, in the meantime, lets gather some common folk who can fight and the lets head off to the human settlement.”
Avenger Angel
Warrior of Heaven
Jav, the Bonechewer (Cohort of Chaos Charizard)
Lieutenant of Armahdus, the Fallen of Moltres
Talacola, Hyand, Kokoro
Jav and his following minions of infernal destruction had flown over the barricade designed by the defenders, and had begun to attack the town. However, that moment of massacre was short-lived when they saw the Pokémon using helicopters, using chainguns to rip many of them to shreds in midair. Another helicopter had fired heat-seeking missiles, blowing up a Wretched Fearow into pieces and a Scourge Honchkrow into a shower of fetid body parts.
"DeSTRoY ThEM!!" Jav snarled, directing his flight to the attack helicopters.
He and his swarm of several hundred undead flying Pokémon had redirected their flight toward the helicopters. Using whatever attacks they could, they managed to bring one helicopter down, causing the Primeape pilot and his crew to spiral out of control before exploding into another batch of trees. However, there were still many more that needed to be obliterated. Jav snarled as yet another one of his minions, a sickly Scourge Pidgeot, was torn to ribbons by a chaingun only a few feet away from him.
His refused to be a failure to his master, Armahdus, and his lord Zaiaku. Once the first helicopter was down, Jav surged toward the next, hoping to move from chopper to chopper and bring them all to the ground to watch them explode into pieces...
Armahdus Deathwing, Magnus of the Chaotic Holocaust
Fallen of Moltres
Jadewater Forest - Talacola Outskirts, Hyand, Kokoro
Armahdus had seen Jav's forces had been intercepted. Confident the dark Charizard could handle himself, he simply went back to work on the barricade. By now, after so much bombardment, the defensive wall was on the verge of collapsing. As Armahdus sneered with his dark, unholy grin, he knew they could delay their deaths, but it would still come to them.
Another round of attacks was directed toward the barricade, shattering more stones and causing massive briars and thorn vines to be ripped apart. Armahdus expected it would only be able to hold at most two more rounds of attacks.
"PUt MoRE EffoRT inTO iT!" Armahdus snarled with impatience at his underlings. "We WiLL NoT bE UnDONe!!"
Not wanting to face the wrath of their master, the horde of Abyss Pokémon tried their best to amplify their power into the next blow. With a massive explosion from all ranges of attack, the first of the barricades was broken through, and like an unholy swarm of insects, Armahdus's legions spilled through like rushing water through a hole, intent on reaching Talacola to grind the resistors to a bloody pulp...
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kirvesta Shadowblade, Patriarch of the Screaming Damned
Fallen Nidokng - Fallen of the Dark General Tlak
Liberty Station, Karan, Kokoro
The forward assault on the Liberty Station base was brutal for both sides. Many of Kirvesta's emissaries of death were shot down by the advanced weaponry, both from the defensive infantry and from the sentry turrets. However, many of them were reaching the infantry, and were butchering them in the bloodiest ways possible. Meanwhile, the rear guard was attacking the members of the Circle of Seven that were threatening to destroy the Death-Wretcher. Kirvesta would have none of that in his moment of dark, foreboding glory.
Kirvesta snarled as the defense line was still holding. To him, they simply needed more punishment and pain to show them their efforts were futile. What truly infuriated him, however, was the interception by Utopia's Skystriders.
More attempts were made by the Circle of Seven to fully render the siege engine incapable of getting close to the base. Kirvesta sent his hideous minions into the tunnels to shred the interceptors to bits, while the Unholy Mechanists did whatever they could to pull the heavy machine out of its confines.
Kirvesta soon caught sight of the commanding officer, an armored Hydreigon charging at him with an energy-based sword. Kirvesta snarled with fiendish delight, readying his brutal swords, Underskull and Mindcrush, he sought to meet the Hydreigon in combat and brutally slay him and make a fine example out of his mangled, twisted body. He charged in response to the Hydregion's attack. Like a heavy battering ram, he surged toward the armored dragon, making his move to thrust both of his savage swords into the dragon's belly and spill his vitals out like a bloody, macabre mudslide.
His unholy scream was like no other in any world...
From Ashes, I Come
So, I decided to have Azmarax leading out of Aramas. If this is a problem to anyone, let me know.
Zix Dawnbringer
Brig. Gen. of Stalwart Skystriders
Aramas, Hyand, Kokoro
Vectra had received a welcome audience with the head leader of the Liberty Crusade; I got a good chuckle when I heard his name was Azmarax and was a Dragonite. To think that one, a dragon was leading this, and two, his name was exactly like Talandra's continents was quite funny. While she dealt with the politics of planning with the leader, I was intercepting the various updates from my other commanders. A Vibrava reported back less than an hour ago saying that the fire was on its way to being contained. The only problem they experienced so far was that they were getting closer and closer to Mortis.
A Pidgeotto from Eyrie's command had reported a confirmation on who was leading the assault on Talacola: a Moltres which meant it was none other than Armahdus. The messenger also relayed that both Sparts and Eyrie were wondering if it was still the better idea to sit and watch from the trees; this led me to really think on my strategy. It was best for Kokoro in the long run to keep Utopia's presence as minimal as possible until it was absolutely necessary, but in the end, I sympathized with Kokoro's possible and repeatable future of what Talandra once was. And in the end, I was in no position to act on what Utopia should be doing, but actually do what I should be doing. The bird was still waiting for my decision and was looking at me expectantly.
“Tell both Eyrie and Sparts that they have the go in attacking the Abyss; however, do not attack the front army. Take it out from the rear. Make sure they are not offered any chance to escape. Also let them know that I will inform the rest of Sparts armies to mobilize and meet them there on the field. Once they arrive, hit them hard. My last order is to have a team of helpers extract any wounded who are unable to fight and bring them back here. I'll let our healers know that some or a lot of soldiers are on their way back.”
“And what about you, sir. Are you heading into battle as well?”
“No, Vectra is in a war council with Liberty Crusade's leader while I am trying to figure out what the other generals are doing. I haven't heard anything from them at all which is worrisome. They better get down he quickly and help or Kokoro's going to start looking like a black planet.”
“Understood.”
With that conversation finished, I went off to inform the rest of Sparts' brigade to stock up and get moving. Finishing that, I browsed around the city as my curiosity was getting the better of me. Only four years past since Talandra, and I was again back in war. I was starting to regret ever un-retiring myself from it, but I couldn't let these innocents die without at least a hope that their future was better. I happened to pass a park which I detoured into, picked a rather comfortable spot next to a small pond, sat down, and commenced into a focused meditation and felt the feelings of others around me and offering comfort to those with doubt in their hearts and heads.
Forest Shadow
Roaring Thunder Leader
Above Veragh en route to Liberty Station, Karen, Kokoro
It was a rather disturbing sight, even to my mind; just out in the middle of no where, the rumors were true of Abyss presence on Karen. I still felt terrible over Karen's history. Of all of the continents of Kokoro, Karen's history was rather depressing. Since the Scorned War, Karen had to rebuild about ninety percent of the island as they were hit the heaviest. It took decades to rebuild, and now, it was starting to rot from the inside out. I had originally thought that the Scorned was nothing compared to what the Scorned did; they had the better weaponry, the numbers, yet we still one. What did the Abyss have to compare to; at least, I had thought that originally before seeing the demonic city beneath me.
However, the worst feeling was seeing it from the skies, in its ugliness and all, with very little amount of troops in it. I was getting curious and worried at the same time, but my fears were answered in minutes as Liberty Station on the horizon. With what looked like a war zone going on in the field. I was glad I brought two squads of the IRS with me.
“Alright Raptors, looks like we get to shake the dust off our weapons,” I said over the radio. “Liberty Station is under attack, so let's show the Abyss a glorious defeat for them shall we. Split formation and get in teams of five. Keep your comrades covered and check your fire. Looks like we got in the middle of the fight. Transports, you are to head to the landing pad and keep yourselves protected. We will still need medics for our upcoming plans back home.
Bravo 15 replied back, “Are we coming in roaring or quietly?”
A valid question on most occasions, but this time, I wanted every living and dead soldier out there to hear us, to feel the air quiver as our aircraft murder every last Abyss soldier we found.
I switched off the radio and turned to the actual leader of the Iron Raptor Squadron, Vax the Sableye, “Alright buddy, your time to fly now. I'm going to cover our rear with my trusty sniper. Keep count of how many you take down; I'll bet I'll have more.”
“And what if I get more, you giving your leadership to me?” he laughed.
“Right, keep dreaming. Tell you what, you beat me, and I'll let you lead Roaring Thunder for a week after this war is over.”
“You're on.”
Both of us smiling, I got up out of the seat and made my way to the back of the plane. The beauty of seventy years worth of studying human war planes was that given time, we would make them better. Vax's bird was one such feat: equipped with standard heat seeking rockets and machine gun turrets up front, it also had a flamethrower turret on each side that needed to be manned while having a hatch that opened in the back for those like me, who loved covering the back with heavy weapons like my sniper. I passed both wingmen and got the hatch. A harness was secured to all four walls in case the pilot needed to do anything crazy and give the Pokemon maneuverability. I liked using all but the floor straps as I enjoyed being suspended off the ground. I grabbed a headset to keep in contact with the other pilots, and finally grabbed my sniper: a modified version of the what the Scorned had used.
It fired much quicker than the average semi-auto snipers the humans had left ages ago and featured a charging mechanism that consumed two bullets but penetrated armor better should the need ever be present. The scope also featured equipment that judged air movement and probability of shot based off varying factors. A one of kind weapon in the hands of Kokoro's deadliest sniper. I couldn't help but feel bad for the unfortunate victims before grabbing his overstuffed bandolier and opened the hatch. I scooted the harness forward to the point where I was officially hanging outside of the plane.
We were still a few minutes away from the fight, but I took the time to radio a familiar jingle across the fleet, “What comes off the mountain and onto the plain?”
In no amount of hesitation, a response from every pilot echoed back across the broadcast, “ROARING THUNDER!”
Continuing the chant, I added, “And what shall our enemies scream in fear?”
“ROARING THUNDER!”
“Who's the best?”
“ROARING THUNDER!”
“How many survivors live to speak our name?”
“NONE!”
“Give'em hell?”
“YEAAAAAAAH. ROARING THUNDER!
ROARING THUNDER! ROARING THUNDER! HUUUUUH!”
And the chant continued to the point where even the droning of our own planes could no longer be heard above the chorus until the very moment when silence was heard over the intercom and bullets and the whirring of engines announced our thundering arrival, and we let loose our own hell against Hell itself.
What do I do now?
Kyra Sol the Pikachu
Liberty's Crusade, Initiate
En route to Talacola, Hyand, Kokoro
Kyra held on, her fingers turning white from hanging onto the edge of her seat. Her teeth clenched as her hood rattled off of her head. The helicopter swayed from side to side, releasing an enourmous amount of amo while avoiding the unholy creatures flying by the copter.
Kyra looked outside and saw something white with fire nearly peg the copter. She looked out again and saw a Dragonite, or what looked to be one.
She sighed for a moment, thinking that back up had arrived to help them. This thought perished when the dragon looked back, its smile revealing the other half of its face brutally torn off, its wings torn but somehow still able to fly. Kyra gasped as the deranged pokemon flew erratically towards them, its body festered and skin torn to reveal skeletal forms of limbs and appendages.
Her eyes could only widen more until, what could only be described as a missile, came and utterly obiliteratted the beast. All kinds of rotten flesh, gore, and appendages rained down from where the dragon once was and Kyra could only look away and hold her hands to her face to keep herself from throwing up in the small amount of room the helicopter had.
"Oh, I think I'm going to be sick." She closed her eyes tightly before the insane amount of nausea passed.
Not much longer than they had sailed through the scores of monsters did the chopper drop down and load them off.
Kyra about fell flat on her face, but managed to keep her feet on the ground and her head held high as she made her way towards the group.
Alec had apparently just received a call from one of the other choppers, saying that they had to refuel. Kyra guessed that they were currently on their own.
"Alright, who's coming with me to bring the secondary force back?"
Secondary force? Kyra's ears suggested that she was confused before shooting up into the air. Oh! The Jade Alliance! We have to help them defend Talacola! Her heart plummeted with thoughts of having to deal with grotesque monsters like that Dragonite again. Her fear...could she hold it off long enough to fight? Could she fight? She hasn't even gone for decent training!
She pondered to think of the last time, other than a few hours ago, that she had used the Sol Cuffs.
Oh yeah, it was a week prior to sending my letter. She remembered the small and limited 'training session' she had and figured that she would have to use all of her knowledge of her weapons as well as improvise if she was going to be of any help to Alec, Max, Melody, or anyone else.
Alec's question still hung in the air and no one had currently answered. Then Max stepped forward.
"You know I'll always have your back." His voice was reassuring and motivating at the same time. And even though she couldn't see it, she was sure that Max was smiling underneath.
With that, Kyra pledged her strength as well.
"I'm with you. I'll do what I can!" She gave a determined grin while balling a fist. The Sol Cuff's energy surged in her hand. She would soon be ready-
A string of pain shot through her head. She clenched her jaw and refrained from holding her head.
What's happening to me? She fought to keep her eyes open as the pressure mounted on her head. Finally the pressure surged, enveloping her body as took a sharp breath. Her eye's squeezed shut and a new light filtered in.
What isthis she thought. My eyes aren't open... the pain still surmounted and finally a vision took place.
There was a city...Talacola? And shadowy figures rose from around the bends to find a large hill in the center. One shadowy figure, probably a leader, came up and lifted an appendage...an arm? The other figures cheered, but Kyra couldn't tell of they were jeers or infact cheers. A celebration?
Whoosh!
A sound like blasting wind flooded her ears before leaving her bereft of the vision.
Ugh... She thought before saying it quietly. A hand held to her head as the headaches began to lift and vanish.
"Ugh, what...was that?" she panted before struggling to shake it off. Was that a vision? Did she just see the outcome of the battle? The shadowy figures and the cheering, she hoped dearly it was the living and not the bereft dead that had won. Either way, there was one big battle ahead.
OCC: Congratulations! You just saw Kyra experience her first 'electric foresight' one of her powers brought on as a side effect from the psychic energies of the Sol Cuffs! lol
A Failed Experiment
Lisa the Roserade
The Jade Alliance, Thorn
Jadewater Forest, Hyand, Kokoro
A huge bang came from the first barricade, followed by dark cheers and war cries. The Abyss finally succeeded; the barrier was breached. The appalling silhouettes started pouring through the hole they had created. The delay they had suffered made the Wretched even more bloodthirsty; they were so eager to slay everything in their path, some of them were trampled as the whole crowd simultaneously tried to squeeze through the opening. The rest were unfazed by the fate of their comrades and continued to push forward with undiminished passion and intensity.
What remained of the ABM members, fighting the invaders at the first barricade, flew off to join the aerial battle in the skies of Talacola. There, the Abyss flyers encountered resistance, though Lisa was unable to tell who came to their assistance. While they were flying overhead, Lisa assessed the flock’s numbers had reduced by half.
The breached barricade also meant the stallers ran out of time, they had to retreat. Lisa looked at the barricade they were currently building; it wasn’t as big and strong as everyone had hoped, certainly weaker than the first one. It will have to do anyway, the Abyss will need some time to dismantle it and during the time they are busy with it, we will get somewhere safe.
The big question, though, was what place was safe during such battle and how could they reach it in this condition. Talacola, where they had planned to withdraw was already under assault; just the way there could prove fatal for most of them. Most of them barely had the strength to stand up and a group of tired, slow moving grass Pokemon would make a perfect target for an aerial attack.
Meanwhile, the battle in the sky moved closer and Lisa could see that their help had arrived in the form of flying machines, she had never seen before. She remembered her parents telling her some stories about a war a long time ago in which humans used a lot of machinery. From the description Lisa vaguely remembered those machines could be called helicopters.
This was the first time in a while she thought about her parents. She didn’t like thinking about them; she still resented them their decision to send her away. Even so, she couldn’t help but wonder how they were doing now that the invasion began.
Allyson, the Eden in charge of the division, disrupted her flow of thought by shouting commands. “Abandon the barricade, we have to leave right now! The first barrier was breached and the enemy is coming at us! We’re retreating to Talacola! Move in small groups and make sure you remain as hidden as possible! Let’s go!”
The response was weak and slow at best. The Pokemon were exhausted from building the two barricades, sleepy from the lack of sleep and covered with bruises, scratches and sweat. Nevertheless, the most determined started moving towards Talacola a few moments later. Still, it was clear the majority of them won’t ever make it to Talacola.
“Look up there!” Lisa looked at a Lotad standing close to her, who said that. He was pointing at a group of helicopters approaching them. Maybe the help is coming at last.
OOC: Sorry if this post seems short. I can't seem to figure out what to write, and it is 5 in the morning.
Emily the Glaceon
Circle of Seven: Chosen
Liberty Station, Karan, Kokoro.
As a species, Glaceon were never really intended to be digging tunnels, a fact that was glaringly obvious as the process wore on. I was tired, my fur was filling with dirt, and sweat, but after several moments, but just before I was going to head to the surface, a frantic mental cry rang out.
Emily! I blinked, getting dirt in my eyes. What in the hell was Nix doing ton the battlefield? The stupid Espeon was morbidly afraid of blood, and the only time he killed something he nearly went into a comma, so who in their right mind aloud him on the battlefield? I need help!
In the name of Arceus, what do you need Nix? I thought back at him, all the while digging away from the battle zone. Muffled fighting could be heard somewhere behind me. I didn’t wait for an answer however, instead I paused long enough to expand the area, I was in, before I focused on my medallion. The gem in the center began to glow, and I was treated to the disconcerting feeling of being outside of my body, but not in another.
A moment later, I in a different tunnel, my entire body shaking with fear. My tail was longer, and with two tips, my ears shorter, and my body generally different. For most pokemon, this would have been the most disconcerting thing on the planet.
However, I was used to this strange feeling of ending up in someone else’s head. Or more exactly in Nix’s head. The Espeon was a very powerful fighter, but couldn’t stand combat, while my species was not exactly cut out for front line fighting. So as it turned out, I ended up fighting inside of Nix’s head a lot of the time. The reason for his fear was obvious, some kind of Pokémon was digging through the tunnel right towards him. It was hard to see in the tunnel, but I could tell that whatever it was, it was Abyssal, and dangerous.
I didn’t have a lot of time, and the tunnel was going to make this fight difficult. While I was in control of Nix’s body, his mind was his own, and as such, I could not use his Psychic powers as he could without his permission. Sadly he was currently holed up in some corner of his mind, and not available, meaning I would have to stand and fight….goodie.
The Nidoking smiled cruelly as I charged him, completely ignoring my laser shots, which still missed by a hairs breath. Instead, he charged at me, his swords leveled it such a fashion that if they hit me, my guts would spill out in twisted impersonation of a waterfall. A bloody, chunky waterfall perhaps.
As we neared each other, I ran through a series of plans in my head. While my armor might defend me against most of the foot soldiers I had just mangled, it would not do anything in this fight, meaning I was better off dodging. The gap closed further, and I tossed myself to the right, and as my opponent charged past me, an unholy scream on his lips, I struck out hoping to cut something in his leg.
I wasn’t able to see if the blade hit, however, as the momentum of my dodge carried me forwards, into awkward twisting roll….or something. Whatever you want to call the ungraceful movement, it got me upright and the enemy again. I charged again, closing the gap between us in only a few quick strides, my sword flashing down in brutal arch. Twisting my wrist, I brought the weapon up, and slashed again across my opponents’ chest area.
Looking out the helmet of my armor into my opponents eyes, I couldn’t help but smiling. Here was an opponent who would show no fear, no remorse, and truly be something worth killing.
Requiem's Eclipse
Hopelessly Hopeful
Fantasia the Gardevoir & Etude the Gallade
Utopia: Madame General of The Celestial Starchasers and Colonel of the Starchasers
Utopia: Feathersong, Angelwing Islands
Fantasia
She couldn't believe what she was viewing. This poor world of Kokoro.....and the way some Utopians were treating the them was despicable.
Fantasia was lounging on her balcony, which looked more like an outdoor park, watching all the carnage. She was at her mansion a sprawling 6 floor abode on top of a cloud. In the sunlight, the house shimmered in pink and purple hues. From all the windows, she can see the Celestial Starchaser HQ. Fantasia and Etude were rather odd for Celestial Starchasers. They never used their Seraphim Wings, as they already could technically fly using telekinesis also, their Seraphim Wings were much more noticeable then most. For one, they both had two sets of wings both on the back, making four wings in total. The wings also left a shimmering trail behind wherever they flew and so, for stealth purposes, they both decided that using telekinesis to fly was much more practical for times of war. The only wings Fantasia liked was the two small ones on her temple, which she never hid. She flipped her hair and began walking toward the door to go back inside her mansion.
Once inside she was in a large meeting room. The meeting room looked more like the inside of a cathedral with it's towering buttresses and large stain glass windows. She entered and sat at the end of the table. Etude was right next to her, in a smaller chair of course. Seated at the table were the rest of the major Celestial Starchasers, Lieutenant Rexo the Haxorus, Minor Colonel Cumulus the Altaria, Brigadier General Renny the Staraptor and last but not least Officer Quake The Garchomp.
"So why did you call us here, we have armies to run down in Kokoro while you two love birds are up here lounging!" Rexo snapped at Fantasia the moment Etude pulled the chair out for her to sit. Rexo is devastatingly intimidating. He stands at a whopping 7ft and is much bulkier then a normal Haxorus. His eyes are crimson red and his body is completely silver. His horns are a deep bronze color and two lines of sharp horns running down the side of his body.
"Rexo!," Cumulus' calming voice echoed throughout the metting room, "show some respect to the Madame General, obviously we're here for something rather important". Cumulus was the calming force of the Celestial Starchaser. She is a normal Altaria, all except for her face. Rather then the cutesy face Altaria's usually had, her face is one of beauty. Her two antennae flow like hair and rested wherever they pleased. She uses her cloud wings almost like a shawl and wraps them around her neck.
"Cumulus is right, we need to hear her out before we get our feathers ruffled!" Renny's voice pierced the air. It is rather high pitched for a man but, he is aging. He is at that point were you started randomly rolling rs in places they shouldn't be and forgetting where you put things. Though he is aging, you can still tell he was quite the warrior. Renny is rather tall for a Staraptor, standing at a 5'7" and has a 6'2" wingspan. He has blades on his wings and a bladed helmet that he even wears out of the battle field. His feathers around his chin and eyebrows are slightly unkempt, creating the illusion of a beard and bushy eyebrows. Renny is also completely black except for his scythe on his head which comes in the standard red. His eyes are a sapphire blue.
"Now hush! Madame General is about to speak!" Etude announced for the rest of the whiny leaders. He stood in salute until Fantasia stood up and started speaking
"The situation is dire, we need to act and act now unless we want..." she paused thinking of her home world that was devoured by the abyss, "another Talandra." she took a small pause to note everyone's reactions. Everyone reacted the way she would expect. Cumulus, Renny and Quake were all upset while Rexo simply scoffed. Etude simply looked down. "So I have decided to create an elite squadron.....The Golden Wing Squadron."
"The Golden Wing Squadron!?" Quake opened his mouth finally. Quake is your normal everyday Garchomp except for the fact he doesn't act like one. He's an upstart and rebellious. He never listens to orders and follows what he feels....with great results.
"Yes, The Golden Wing Squadron" Etude took over the conversation and began explaining. "We must create an elite squadron of Celestial Skychasers in order to spy on the enemy and possibly engage the enemy. Each of us here are gifted with special powers that make you perfect for-"
"Spying?!" both Rexo and Quake said in disbelief. "I am a Warrior not a lowly spy that can't do anything for themselves," Rexo proclaimed.
"Neither am I, Every squadron needs it's warriors." Etude stated "Every squadron needs warriors and that's what you, Quake and I am for. We are to go to Kokoro and recruit the strongest of the strong. The Golden Wing Squadron will start out as only a spying squadron but, will evolve into an all out army. We are starting with the best of the best. Fantasia, with her healing powers and telekinetic powers will help insure that none of us will die. she can also spy on the enemy. Cumulus, your ability to soothe anyone with your singing voice will help take out foes easier. Renny, your cloaking ability along with your machinery will help us out immensely. Quake, Haxorus and I? We are the best warriors in the Celestial Skychasers and we must find the rest of the best."
"So, any questions?" Fantasia asked. No one had any. "Well then, it's time to move out..Golden Wing Squadron."
Unbeknownst to the rest of the Squadron, Fantasia sent out messages using her petal mail, to every known Celestial Starchaser, requesting to be part of The Golden Wing Squadron.
Avenger Angel
Warrior of Heaven
Jav, the Bonechewer (Cohort of Chaos Charizard)
Lieutenant of Armahdus, the Fallen of Moltres
Talacola, Hyand, Kokoro
Jav and his forces met with the helicopters, only it seemed their tenacious fury was unlike anything they had ever seen before. Like Kirvesta, he had not foreseen the use of such war machines against his master's campaign. Nor did he foresee them attacking at the precise, critical moment that his master, Armahdus, would decide to separate the forces.
And that ignorance would cost him everything.
The heavy vulcan chainguns of the helicopters was dealing far too much damage to his aerial contingent. For every one helicopter that was taken down, he last more than fifty troops, a cost that was rapidly escalating as there were fewer and fewer forces to make up the difference. Judging by how many helicopters that still needed to be eliminated, there was no chance his forces could stop them without suffering from total elimination.
It wasn't long until the rain of bullets and occasional heat-seeking missile reached his final lines. Jav himself felt one bullet strike him in the chest, and then another in his shoulder, tearing in and out and leaving a gory, black exit wound. Fighting off the pain, Jav snarled, a unholy roar that no natural Charizard would be capable of.
Around him, a blackened, ghoulish Pidgeot was exploded into a bloody shower of grizzly body parts, while a wretched Yanmega was shredded to bits by the chainguns, and soon enough, the macabre Noctowl behind him as well.
A third, fourth, and fifth bullet tore their ways into Jav's fetid flesh, and with dying breaths, Jav plunged toward the closest helicopter he could reach. Wanting nothing more than dark glory, he prepared to achieve that final rite.
Flying through the window in a crashing shower of jagged, broken glass, he plunged his two, grizzly claws into the Monferno copilot and the Grumpig pilot himself, sinking his clawed fists as deeply into their vitals as he could. Immediately, the helicopter lost control, and took Jav with it.
"HoW... DoES iT fEEL tO DIe!?" Jav laughed at the dying Grumpig pilot as the helicopter sped toward a pile of jagged rocks.
"Heroic," He replied, giving him one last smug grin of confidence before the helicopter violently struck the rocks.
And in one last fireball, the helicopter exploded in a massive blast of flame and fire. Flaming metal and embers were thrown in all directions before all that was left was wreckage and burning flames.
Jav "Bonechewer," Lieutenant of Armahdus, was now but only a dark memory...
Armahdus Deathwing, Magnus of the Chaotic Holocaust
Fallen of Moltres
Jadewater Forest - Talacola Outskirts, Hyand, Kokoro
The barrier was finally breached, but Armahdus Deathwing needed only to look ahead to see how badly the situation had become up ahead. The last of Jav's fighters were sliced apart in midair, saturating the ground with their black blood. He even caught a glimpse of Jav's entourage getting ripped apart by the fury of the helicopters before Jav sacrificed himself to take down one last helicopter before the chopper itself plunged into a pile of rocks and exploded, blowing up everything inside.
For Armahdus, he expected far more from Jav, sorely disappointed in the Charizard's horrendous failure to even put a third of his forces to ample use. To him, Jav was nothing but a waste of effort, a miserable failure who had stupidly wasted a third of his resources on nothing but to get shot down by the enemy and even boost their morale, likely giving their wounded and exhausted soldiers a second wind.
MiSeRaBLE FaiLUrE...
Armahdus cursed Jav's name under his breath, cursed the name of his woeful failure of a lieutenant and hoped not even the weakest sliver of his soul survived the incineration. Instead, once the barricade was broken, he sent out the remaining legion in what at least Armahdus hoped would make up for the pathetic excuse of an assault that Jav had initiated. His two other lieutenants, Kex the sadistic Volcarona also known as the "Flameretcher" and his dark compatriot Baxan, also titled "Deadnight," screamed out as they sought to avenge their fallen brethren in black and bloody horror.
All the while, Armahdus stayed behind and followed at a safe distance, not trusting his remaining two followers to keep their end of the deal. He sent every last soldier he had to plunge their way into Talacola, and he knew once they had made it the city itself, the helicopters would need to either back away or risk causing massive collateral damage to the city itself in their efforts to stop his stampeding and trampling swarm of infernal ground forces.
To that, he could sneer.
Kirvesta Shadowblade, Patriarch of the Screaming Damned
Fallen Nidokng - Fallen of the Dark General Tlak
Liberty Station, Karan, Kokoro
The amount of defense that had come to Liberty Station's aid was far too overwhelming to Kirvesta's force. More and more, the forces of the Abyss were pushed back, slaughtered, and one after another, they fell, skulls smashed while their dark souls were whisked away, never to return, not even to their infernal underworld.
The Unholy Mechanists had struggled with the Death-Wretcher Siege Engine, trying to pull it out of the trap that the defenders had forced it into while the Circle of Seven's valiant assault continued to make the situation even worse for the Abyss. Another blast in the midst of the last group of rushing attackers slaughtered five more Wretched, and one of the few last Cohorts of Chaos the army had.
And then, the deciding moment of the battle had called down. The mud around the siege engine had become wetter, and the hollowed out ground easily gave way under the heavy deadweight of the siege engine. To the agony of the Mechanists, the heavy siege engine collapsed on its side and sunk even further into the muddy pit. It would take a team of hundreds to wrestle it out of its muddy confines, something that was impossible to do in the heat of an already dismal conflict. They had no choice but to abandon the siege operation, and with the already growing number of defenders and rapid arrival of reinforcements, their chances were dwindling rapidly.
It was at that point that Kirvesta refused to surrender or flee. If he was to fail this conflict, then he would inflict as much damage as he could against the defending forces, and slaughter every living thing that dared show their face to him. To him, there was only victory, or death at great cost to the enemy.
The arrival of Roaring Thunder's aerial battalion was the final nail in the coffin. Already, the Abyss's forces, once fighting an even battle, were now outnumbered at least ten to one, and with the loss of their siege engine, a critical element of the assault, the situation only grew more hopeless. They also had no more flyers to deal with the aerial assault vehicles, and as more and more defenders came to assist, they were surrounded, with nowhere to run.
Ian the Hydregion, with his armor flashing in the sun and with a adamant will to bring down the infernal tyrant, charged toward the demonic Kirvesta, slashing his sword down in a brutal, furious arch. Kirvesta, blinded by his furious hate and anger to spill the warlord's blood, swung his left arm upward at the wrong moment, and his left arm, holding the deranged sword Mindcrush, was severed by Ian's blade.
With a macabre gush of black, fetid blood, the left arm was flung off, still clutching tightly to the burning black blade. With an unholy, mindless howl, Kirvesta roared black horror at the armored Hydregion, who stopped at nothing, no matter what kind of scream of abomination the dark Nidoking hurled at him. Slashing upward, a violent and savage laceration was carved across the dark warlord's chest, ripping through his black, fetid flesh. It seemed at that moment, the dark feast that Kirvesta had been anticipating... would not come to pass...
His forces, his unholy army... was failing. Those that weren't cut down like straw against the aerial machines of retribution were shot down like feral dogs against the stalwart ground forces and heavy defense cannons, and then stomped underfoot against the righteous core of the stations defenders. Defeat, as it seemed against the ever-growing defense, was inevitable. The last of his expendable Wretched were being cut down by the enemy, and their defeat was only boosting the morale of the Kokoro defense and the bitterly hated Utopian forces. His forces were down to a pitiful handful of already shattered soldiers who knew only destruction, and would not think to flee for simple self-preservation.
Filled with wretched anger, he swung his only arm, carrying the vengeful Underskull sword, toward the heart of the Hydregion. With blood of deepest black gushing out of his screaming, roaring mouth, he swung that one last time.
Hope, it seemed, refused to give sway against such deranged horrors...
Alec "Rush" Garadian the Floatzel
Liberty's Crusade, Knight
Leaving Talacola, Hyand, Kokoro
Alec was happy to see he wasn't going to have to go on his own, as several of the soldiers, including Max and the Initiate joined him. The soldiers quickly rushed out of the city, as the helicopters finished off the last of the flying forces of the Abyss and flew off to refuel. One helicoper was attacked by a Charizard and crashed just about 100 yards from where Alec was.
From where Alec was, he could see the legions of the Abyss moving through the first barricade and quickly making their way to the second one. For the sake of the secondary force and himself, Alec went into a full sprint so he could reach the secondary force before the Abyss made it through.
Alec's force reached the secondary force just as the Abyss reached the barricade to begin breaking it down. He looked around and approched a Vileplume, who appeared to be the leader.
"I am Alec Garadian of the Liberty's Crusade. We're ready for the attack on Talacola, and we have been sent here to bring you back." Alec said, looking around at the tired grass types.
"Most of us are too tired to make it back to Talacola, we can't make it in time..."
"Then we will bring you back ourselves. Crusaders, assist any Alliance troops too tired to make it back on their own. Carry them if you must. We WILL bring them back before the Abyss break through, are we clear?"
"SIR YES SIR!" The soldiers immediately went to work, helping the grass types, some putting their arms around their shoulders, while the larger Crusaders carried one, and sometimes even two of three smaller Alliance troops at once. Max picked up a Lotad and hoisted him onto his left shoulder, his right one being occupied by his laser cannon.
Alec himself came to the aide of a tired looking Roserade. "Are you alright? Can you make it back to Talacola on your own?"
Escorting others to Talacola, Hyand, Kokoro
Kyra quickly went with Max and Alec, along with several other soldiers in order to aid the fellow grass pokemon. Some carried several pokemon at a time on their back while others planned out an escape in case they got ambushed.
Kyra had all but forgotten about the vision in which she saw the outcome of the battle, the only problem was who would be the group that cheered in Talacola?
Her cloak flapped in the low lying wind that stumbled upon the landscape as she looked around in the dark. The night wore on as the steady glow of reflected moonlight gave an aura off the knights' armor. Kyra reluctantly looked towards her home town to see another steady aura, one of fire. The fire was like a small river, approaching the small city.
She looked back and saw Max lifting up pokemon on his shoulder, leaving the other one open to fire lasers if needed and Alec was helping out a Roserade.
Kyra, not being large enough to carry many, if any, to Talacola, began to form an idea.
She looked around and saw several Whimsicotts that seemed too tired to walk all the way. She took a deep breath and felt the energy surge within her hands before lifting the three cotton pokemon into the air close to her. At first they began to panic, but when they figured out that she meant no harm, they calmed down. It would be more difficult to carry all three of them at once. Already her mind began to feel a heavy weight on it.
She looked around, under strain, and saw the Prinplup from earlier standing around.
"Hey, you want to take one or two of these guys?" she called squeezing one eye shut.
The Prinplup hustled over the cool hillside to take Whimsicott on one shoulder while another nearby Medicham took another. That left Kyra standing with the remaining pokemon that floated by the psychic energies in the cuffs. This took a load off her mental strength since now she only had to carry the one. So with that she began to walk towards the city.
Kraxel the Bisharp
Utopia Batallions: Celestial Starchasers
En Route to Echo Base, Hyand, Kokoro
“Kraxel, we have rallied a good number of the civilians to join the cause, they are seeming quite hesitant about dealing with Utopian soldiers, perhaps it is because we are alien to them, but hopefully they will warm up to us,” Kramen announced, bringing in fifty plus pokemon into the base of operations, Zyond bringing in a few more and Brom none, typical for him.
“EVERYONE! I have called you hear in the hopes that you will join me and my brethren in destroying the Abyss threat that is to the far south of Hyand, many of us will not be alive by the time this conquest is over, but we will all draw our weapons in the name of Utopia, for I can guarantee that is were we all be in the end, under the holy banner of Utopia in Innocence, hearing stories of our exploits across all of Kokoro. Sadly, the ‘army’ of Roaring Thunder will not be joining us today – today their leader approached me, he will not lend his aid until me and my band has proven ourselves to him, and in the name of Sunmar and Roaring Thunder’s leader, and in the name of Arceus, everyone in this war room will prove ourselves to both of them, and we will prove ourselves to the Abyss! that we will all fight for the freedom of our home, for even Utopia may soon be fighting the Abyss in my realm; we will drive them back into their hell holes, and eventually take the fight to them!”
With that ending, a roar of cheers and agreement roared through the warehouse.
“Our first destination is to the human station to the south west of here, hopefully the Liberty Crusaders will join us, and with luck, Roaring Thunder will come, and with the force of three armies, the two Abyssal settlements will be obliterated in the name of Utopia and Kokoro, from there, I will lead all willing soldiers into the Abyss, we must drive the fight to them for sometime and off of Kokoro, and will draw their attention away from this world for awhile because they will need to prepare their own defenses! But, the Abyss is not a peaceful world! It is filled with horrors beyond any of your imaginations, and we will need only the elite elite to join us in that battle!”
“WHEN DO WE LEAVE?!” the civilians shouted towards me.
“We leave now, I am sure the Abyss have occupied most of the desert by now, we cannot let them win the desert either around Sunmar or the human base, if we lose either, the tables will surely turn to the worse in this war!”
On that note, I took Kramen, Zyond, and Brom into a secret room of the warehouse that we made and a brief discussion with them.
“Do you think these civilians can even fight?” Brom asked.
“We can train them, I do not believe they can fight yet, but I do believe they will die trying to save their home, I would know, I saw many innocent people die trying to save Scarwell in Zoroki’s legions,” I responded.
“Zorkoi is a powerful foe,” Zyond proclaimed, (now looking to Kraxel) “and I am afraid he might be able to find you telepathically.”
“What do you mean?!”
“As you have asked, I have been studying your spider-claw ring… the results are interesting to say the least.”
“Proceed.”
“I believe that the ring has a twin made with it, the device is clearly from the Abyss; it is of no mortal creation and is definitely not from Utopia.”
“Are you implying that Zoroki has the twin ring?” Brom questioned, I nodded towards Zyond describing my similar feelings.
“That is my fear. Kraxel, from your account, you said that you found the ring in the Hall of Divines north of Snowpoint, and you found it after Zoroki and his force fled from Talandra and that a power overwhelmed you to put the ring on, you also said that in Scarwell, Zoroki severely hurt your mortal form and thus, you had become corrupted, it is possible that he forced you to put that ring on so he can always find you.”
“Well that is just dandy! Zoroki feels he is above the Abyss, that he is fit to rule over a world and control the Abyss itself, I would love to end his life!” Kramen shouted, clearly hating my Fallen.
“Zoroki’s ambition comes from me though, it use to be my dream to rule Talandra, and he was more successful then me, and even controlled armies of the Abyss, and I mean physically controlled, it is possible that he desires to become a Defiler.”
“Anyways, what is the odds that he will be at the Abyss settlements? We will have a better chance finding him in the Abyss,” Brom grunted.
“Well according to my calculations, the ring has telepathic abilities as I said, it might be able to relay Kraxel’s motives to Zoroki, and thus, wait for us at the settlements.”
“If he knew our motives, he would wait at the other end of the ziggurats and ambush us with his armies instead of being away from his home; if I know my Fallen he will wait, he is smarter than any of us realize, except maybe myself, and he stronger than probably any of us here, including you Brom!”
“No one is tougher than me! I can move mountains with my claws!”
“That may be true, but Zoroki could destroy your mind quickly and turn you against us, he is a foe not to be taken lightly. Now, I want you three to stay behind and gather our things and meet me at the human base later, I am going to be leaving now.”
With that said and done, I took my leave and began marching the civilians across the desert and towards the human settlement, hoping Zoroki had not yet realized what I was plotting against him.
A Failed Experiment
Lisa the Roserade
The Jade Alliance, Thorn
En route to Talacola, Hyand, Kokoro
Sure enough, it wasn’t long before the help arrived. Their saviours were a group of Pokemon, based on their appearance, members of the Liberty’s Crusade. A lot of them were wearing some sort of armor, which made them look almost invincible. Lisa was impressed, they looked extremely powerful; no wonder they were able to take down the Abyss flying force so easily.
One of them, probably their leader, stepped forward. "I am Alec Garadian of the Liberty's Crusade. We're ready for the attack on Talacola, and we have been sent here to bring you back." His voice was calm, steady and reassuring.
Lisa tried to figure out what Pokemon Alec was. If he was a Pokemon at all. He was completely covered in armor, so it was difficult to make anything out. His shape, two legs and two arms, didn’t reveal much information.
Allyson responded to Alec. "Most of us are too tired to make it back to Talacola, we can't make it in time..." She was right; the second barricade was already under attack. But Alec knew how to lift their spirit.
"Then we will bring you back ourselves. Crusaders, assist any Alliance troops too tired to make it back on their own. Carry them if you must. We WILL bring them back before the Abyss break through, are we clear?"
They immediately got to work, helping the grass types on their feet, picking them up and even carrying them in their arms or on their backs. Lisa even spotted a small Pikachu lifting up a few Whimsicott with some using some sort of psychic power. Wow, that’s impressive; I didn’t know Pikachu could use psychic powers. Liberty’s Crusade really is something else.
"Are you alright? Can you make it back to Talacola on your own?" Lisa turned and saw the armor was talking to her. It could be Alec, but with all the similar armors running around she couldn’t be sure. She decided to check.
“You are Alec, right?” Lisa asked carefully.
“Yes, I am. And you are?” said the voice coming from the armor. Lisa was unable to figure out anything else about its owner. She didn’t want to ask directly, though.
“I thought so, but with so many of you wearing similar armor I wasn’t sure. My name is Lisa.”
“Nice to meet you, Lisa, though the circumstances could be better. So, to repeat the question, can you make it back to Talacola on your own?”
Lisa thought about it a bit. It would be so simple to say no. Alec seems strong enough to carry me all the way and he is willing to do it. I am exhausted, too. But I am too proud to make myself look so vulnerable in front of the Liberty’s Crusade. Talacola isn’t that far and I should be able to reach it on my own. And even if I don’t, Liberty’s crusade will be still around to help me. Why didn’t they just fly here with their helicopters and pick us up?
“I’m exhausted, but I think I can make it,” she answered and sped up a bit to prove her statement.
Ian the Hydriegon
Liberty Crusade
Liberty Station, Karan, Kokoro
My opponent fell, his thick black lifeblood spilling out onto the earth, pooling around one of his arms. More of the vile substance gushed out of his mouth as the demonic creature swung, desperate to kill me.
My arm, having completed my stroke, and come back to rest at my right side, would not be able to block the slash. I brought my pistol up, and shot out his elbow. While his sword kept moving, it didn’t really concern me that much, as the blade now had no muscle to propel it forwards. True to my thoughts, the weapon bounced off my armor, leaving a gash, but little else. I reached up and removed my helmet with my left hand, allowing my enemy to stare into my eyes.
“Gaze upon death.” And with that, I decapitated my enemy, the blade of my sword easily cleaving his flesh asunder allowing blood to begin spraying everywhere.
Without a backwards glance, I strode away, leaving my foe’s decapitated body in the dirt. A moment later, I found the remaining Circle of Seven members standing around, and when I approached they fell into step with me, and after a few meters, Emily the Glaceon popped up from the earth.
I nodded to her, while putting the finishing touches on the plan I was creating. “Emily, get your people healed up and ready to go, we are leaving to destroy Veragh in the mourning.” I announced before walking away. As I approached our lines, I took in the sight of our help, another group, which likely was powerful if their ride was any indication.
A roar of some kind of engine surprised me, and I nearly shot the Tyranitar, who oversaw our engineers. I caught myself at the last moment. “What?” I demanded, annoyed for some reason.
“Sir, we have managed to get the APC things running, along with one Tank. The other two Tanks are being worked on as we speak.” I snarled, suddenly realizing that none of our heavy firepower had been on the battlefield.
Among the vehicles the Liberty Crusade used, helicopters, Tanks, and APCs were the most common. That said, not a whole lot of facilities had either, in fact we had to bring our own from Janus Station. The armored vehicles were rare, and much harder to make than helicopters, not to mention harder to modify for Pokémon use. I had been give command of nine APCs and three Tanks, one of the largest deployments of either vehicle on record.
The biggest flaw in the machines was how long they took to assemble, since we could not transport them whole due to space constraints. Also, a lack of Pokémon that could use them didn’t help.
“I see. Get the rest of them working as soon as possible. Also, send someone to ask the Divine Sage, and Kassy Joy to meet me as soon as possible. And be polite about it.” I ordered. The Tyranitar nodded and lumbered away barking orders.
I wonder what we're going to face once we get there. Kyra thought as she looked around. Lots of pokemon in strong armor and some with just basic weapons; would they all come back to Bravo Station?
The Medicham that had helped her earlier was making great conversation with the Whimsicott she was carrying and the Prinplup, not surprisingly, wasn't saying much at all if anything.
Kyra looked back to the floating pokemon while she walked. There weren't many other soldiers talking aside from the Medicham. Maybe they were just focused.
She turned her head to see if Alec or Max were anywhere to be found. Melody, unfortunately, had not been seen since the helicopters landed.
She's around here somewhere, She thought with confidence. I just haven't seen her yet. With that she saw Max again and he was doing the exact same thing he was doing the last time she saw him. Helping out other pokemon.
Maybe talking to this grass type here will help calm some nerves.
"Hey," she got the cotton ball's attention. "You got a name?"
"Axum." The pokemon possessed an unexpected more masculine voice.
"Oh, ok." Kyra tried to conceal her chuckles at his voice.
"Something funny?" He crossed his arms.
"No, nothing, just escorting you, like I was told." She said nonchalantly.
It seemed that with every step, the light grew brighter; it was as if with each second they weren't there, the fire that was breaking the barriers were growing larger.
"Sooo, do you have a place in the Jade Alliance?" Kyra was trying, unsuccessfully to make small talk.
"Of course I do, why do you think I'm here?" He raised an eyebrow.
"Sorry, sorry." she trailed off. That's when Axum began to grow impatient.
"I can't stand this anymore. Put me down." He said with a gruff added to his voice.
"But aren't you tired?"
"I said, put me down!"
With that Kyra released her grip of psychic aura and Axum landed on his fluffy back.
"I'll go and fight myself." and with that he got up and rushed forward towards the city.
"This guy's suicidal." Kyra's ears flattened as he dissappeared into the dark. "Wait, come back!" She started off running on two legs but then got down on all fours. "You'll never make it by yourself!" Kyra began to use a quick attack in order to shoot herself forward in the dark to find the grass type.
OOC: Sorry for the delay, been busy with other stuff going on.
Banjin Hellsky, Duke of Atrocity
Fallen of Ho-oh
Blood Cambers - Kavot A' Kon, The Thorndike, The Abyss
The Blood Chambers, a series of dark rooms and dungeons, were used to put blood to mystical, dark, and occult-like uses. While many members of the Abyss found these atrocious chambers to be useless and nothing but another dungeon, there were few that found use to them, only those that knew the Art of the Blood.
Banjin Hellsky, the Fallen of Ho-oh, had been watching Kirvesta and his forces the entire time, gazing into his scrying pool of black blood and beheld the vision of the losing battle. Unlike his Ho-oh counterpart, Banjin resembled dread and bore none of the colors that Ho-oh did. His sickly feathers were only in putrid shades of dark gray, while the tips where there would have been green were dripping with blood. His beak was jagged, his talons were wicked scythes, and his crest appeared to be more like an array of black shark's teeth.
It had not taken long for Banjin to discover his warlord emissary, Kirvesta, had fallen to the heroic warrior Ian, a Hydregion of Liberty's Crusade. Kirvesta's severed head had the gaze of woeful failure, a grotesque sight for both the living and the Abyss. Meanwhile, the rest of Kirvesta's dark army had been vanquished, blown over like leaves in a violent hurricane. As the Duke of Atrocity peered into his scrying pool, he saw the last of them cut down, broken, and blasted into nothing but gore and twisted pieces.
But to Banjin, Kiresta's erasure was simply a test.
"An EmpTY vICToRY aGAInST a USeLEss TOoL," Banjin spat at the victorious defenders of Liberty Station, finding Kirvesta's woeful performance to be many levels below what he usually considered to be pathetic.
Pelätä, the Fallen of Entei, the grotesque blood-soaked lion with the spiked cuffs and the jagged spines, merely smiled at Kirvesta's grizzly death. To Pelätä, the deranged Nidoking was loathed by all, even his own masters. Even Zaiaku himself would disown the warlord. And among warlords, Kirvesta was nothing but a useless grunt, little more than any common Wretched.
"I AgrEE, BuT THeY SEeK tO DEsTRoY VErAGH," Pelätä told his master, Banjin. "WHaT DeFEnSEs We HaVE tHErE NoW MaY NOt bE eNOUgH To ReSIst AgAINsT tHEir WaR MacHINes."
But Banjin was not concerned. The dead city, its unholy ziggurats, dread cathedrals, slaughter houses, torture chambers, and the like was a simple, trivial matter. Besides, the dark city had been designed to Kirvesta's liking. The way the scum saw fit. Letting the Circle of Seven and Liberty's Crusade smash it to powder would actually do him a favor. The other matter that Banjin understood and had not neglected was the matter that a portal to the Abyss was still there, a gateway that Kokoro's and Utopia's forces could potentially use if they were planning a counterattack.
"LeT THeM ComE," Banjin sneered with a wicked chortle. "Let THem STeP iNtO ObliVIOn, aND nEVer SeE tHE SuN EveR aGAIn."
Pelätä understood his master's dark scheme. While the Circle of Seven and Liberty's Crusade had appeared to be troublesome for the expendable fodder of the Abyss, he was interested in letting them step into the lair of the damned.
Armahdus Deathwing, Magnus of the Chaotic Holocaust
Fallen of Moltres
Jadewater Forest - Talacola Outskirts, Hyand, Kokoro
The second barricade was all that stood in his way from defiling Talacola while suffocating all hope as the city was swallowed by the vile darkness. However, the resistance was high in number and strength. While Jav, to Armahdus, was a useless insult to all the Abyss truly was, the fact he had wasted a valuable third of his original army was a problem. The dread Moltres knew that if this attack should fail, Jav was totally to blame, and never again would he trust his forces to any of his underlings, no matter how loyal they were.
For now, the ground forces clashed against the second barricade, trying to thrash it apart while drive fear overwhelming into the defending forces with their dark powers and vicious, savage snarls and shrieks.
"TeAR iT DOwN, SWiNE!" Armahdus shrieked at his army.
Not wanting to face their master's vicious wrath, they drove harder into the second barricade, using whatever dark, macabre power they had at their hands to break down the defensive wall of stones, thorns, and brambles. Against the force, even casualties were caused as the dread Pokémon rammed their way into the wall, often causing others to be crushed and lacerated against the razor-sharp brambles and thorns.
Under his breath, Armahdus cursed Jav's name once again. He would not forgive a wasted opportunity at such high cost...
Viha the Profane (Defiler Execadrill of Azen, the Onyx Murderer)
Emissary Warlord of Meiun, Fallen of Lugia
Tepa, Lasa, Kokoro
The Followers of Khashan were overcome with dread upon the arrival of Viha and his dark army. Their defenses were only light, and with Liberty's Crusade, the Circle of Seven, and the Jade Alliance occupied on other fronts, they were on their own. A few hundred against an army of horrors by the thousands.
Viha and Jukan couldn't have asked for a riper slaughter.
Before the small town, the citizens had fled for their lives while those who were capable of fighting stayed to defend the city. However, judging from the size of the armies, they knew there was little hope of stopping Viha's forces. Their last, selfless act would consist of them sacrificing themselves so the citizens would have more time to hopefully escape. However, Viha had no intention of allowing that, so he was quick to make the call to initiate the charge. And by the hundreds, his swarming forces of undead, horrific Pokémon atrocities charged forward, screaming furiously.
And in the skies, the clouds had grown dark, and a morbid rain had begun to fall upon the town of Tepa. As they rushed through the plains and farmlands, their infernal charge deadened the world around them, and as they grew closer to the few hundred defenders Tepa could spare, a dark sense of hopelessness and fear had crept into their hearts.
"EViScERaTE ThEM aLL!" Viha shrieked in bloody fury.
The frontline defense was quick to unleash their attacks against the frontline Wretched, destroying a handful of skeleton and a few Scourge. However, there were far too many for them all to handle, and it wasn't long before Viha's forces broke the defense line, and a savage battle frenzy initiated. While one Scourged of a hideous Scizor was melted into ooze with a Magmar's Flamethrower, that same, defending Magmar was tackled to the ground by several Scourge Pokémon, and then eaten alive while his last words were agonized screams. An Espeon had used her Psychic power on the Wretched in front of her, but had overlooked the two Scourge to her right. They soon brought her to the ground, and sunk their fetid maws into her flesh. All around them, the defenders were fighting horrors unlike anything they had ever seen before.
Alone... they were not prepared...
Viha himself, not wanting to miss out on the vile thrill of the chaotic battle, had sunk his hideously jagged razor arms into the head of a Wartortle, sawing it into nothing but a bloody, mangled heap. Another defending Loudred had attempted to slice into the dark Execadrill with a broad sword, but with his right bladed hand, Viha had blocked the attack, and with his left bladed hand, drove it into the mouth of his opponent, burrowing through the tongue and vital organs. Upon forcefully yanking out his blood-soaked hand, a gaping hole the size of a watermelon was carved into the Loudred's mouth like a macabre jack-o'-lantern gone terribly wrong, causing the Loudred to vomit nothing but blood before collapsing to the ground in a pool of his own vital fluids.
Never before had Tepa seen so much cruelty and bloodshed...
Requiem's Eclipse
Hopelessly Hopeful
Fantasia the Gardevoir & Etude the Gallade
Utopia: Madame General of The Celestial Starchasers and Colonel of the Starchasers
Unknown
Etude
He couldn't see anything, all he could see was white. He couldn't feel anything, only sadness. He didn't know how long her was there, time had stopped. Etude just floated in nothingness, or more like sadness, pure sadness. All he could think was, Why? Why did they have to save Kokoro? What was their purpose for doing that? Why must they put their still fragile existence in jeopardy for another world? Why?
Why'd I have to Die....I Have to protect her....protect.....Fantasia.
Talacola, Kokoro: Present Time
Etude
Etude couldn't exactly understand why Fantasia was creating this squadron. He had hoped they wouldn't have to go into battle after they began leading the Celestial Starchasers but, only hours ago, Fantasia proved him wrong. They were just over Talacola when he finally could take in the Bloodshed that the Abyss armies were causing. It was exactly like Talandra....but, it was different Utopians were hear to help and he was one of them.
He, Fantasia, Quake and Rexo landed straight on the battlefield, while both Cumulus and Renny took to the skies to battle the air forces of Abyss. As Etude landed, he summoned Odin and stabbed a spawn of the abyss straight in the skull. It resembled what looked to be a Weavile but, the evil of abyss mutated it past definite recognition. Blood splattered out of the head of the beast but, Etude whipped his cape in front of him to shield himself from the tainted blood. After his enemy fell to the ground, he got to see the horrors of what the Schism War left. There were scattered dead bodies laid across the soil with swords impaled in their bodies some, with a few bows in their bodies as well. Large human machines on fire lit areas Etude wish he'd rather not see. The worst part of it? The smell. It was the smell of burning rotting flesh and fresh blood mixed with dirt and sweat.
He snapped back to reality just in time as an abyss soldier raised it's sword at him. Etude summoned his shield/crossbow Sleipnir in an instant and rained what seemed like hundreds of arrows at the soldier. His target wasn't only that one soldier though, it was also the soldiers behind him. He was surprisingly in the front lines of what seemed to be a demon of a Moltres' army. He continued slicing, shooting and beating the soldiers of abyss to a pulp as he slowly inched his way through the forces, along with Rexo. Rexo is a juggernaut in battle. His harsh and combatant attitude is right at home when fighting the hordes of abyss. Rexo used no weapons, only his horns, which looked like elongated bull horns, and his claws to fight. Rexo, though merciless, moves like a snaked, as he twists and turns on all fours to confuse his opponents. After confusing them, he attacks in large bursts of strength with some help of his strong ground powers. Etude and Rexo were ordered to take the land forces and assist the Kokoran forces in battling, while Fantasia and Quake took to low altitude skies to support both the ground forces and air forces, which were Cumulus and Renny.
Etude realized Cumulus had used her signature cloaking ability, Storm Call, as it had begun pouring.
"Dammit, Cumulus, Why'd you do that?" he muttered to himself as he realized that the Kokoran forces using human technology cannot use the flying machines because it was now storming. Etude simply had to trust Renny and Cumulus. He was happy he was still able to see Fantasia and Quake though, so if anything had happened to them, he would be able to spring in and save them.
His attention once again was focused on the battle in front of him. He was surprised he was able to fight and think that much in thought all at once. Etude realized however that they would be fighting for days at a rate like this.
"Rexo, cover me, it's time for the pulse"
"Right," Rexo's gruff voice roared in enthusiasm, "GAIA'S SHEILD!!"
On cue, four large stone walls surrounded Etude. This was the perfect sanctuary to begin his prayer for the Pulse of The Savior. He knelt on one knee and began his prayer. The actual prayer was short, however, Etude needs to recite the prayer exactly ten times and so he counted....
1........
He heard screams, belonging to unknown voices, through his stone shelter.
2.........
He heard the sound of swords recoiling off of Rexo's armor
3.........
He heard Rexo laugh
4.........
Claws through flesh
5..........
Gunshots
6..........
Rexo summoning Heaven's Stalagmite, a move where large spikes of earth shoot up from the ground and stabbing his enemies.
7...........
The victims screams
8............
Thunder
9...............
Thunder
10.........
"NOW!!!!!" Etude yelled at Rexo to take down the shield, which he did and in an instant a brilliant pulse of light launched itself from Etude. The light went about 100 yards around Etude, instantly dissolving the weakest of the abyss soldiers, while pushing the stronger ones back.
Etude stood up surveying the damage he done, though not as much as he wished, it definitely spooked the Abyss soldiers. That's when he noticed the beast. It resembled a Houndoom, large black.....evil. That's when he took notice to it's claws. Those claws....were the ones.....The ones that killed both Fantasia and him. The hell hound was standing right in front of him.
Kraxel the Bisharp
Utopia Batallions: Celestial Starchaser
Echo Base, Hyand, Kokoro
Treading through the forsaken desert was tedious, especially trying to escort poorly trained civilians; hopefully, Roaring Thunder would join us, all I had to do is somehow get word to their leader of our plan to destroy the two Abyss bases, and perhaps he would join me on the raid into the Abyss. A feeling of distaste came to me thinking about the stubborn Roaring Thunder leader, he was brave indeed for coming up to me and confronting me, but he never knew of Talandra, he doesn’t know what I was, and perhaps can be.
“Captain Kraxel, we are approaching the human base, the locals name it Echo Base, it serves as a desert outpost for the Liberty’s Crusade and Roaring Thunder, it is currently offline, but I am sure the Roaring Thunder leader or the paladin in charge of the station will gladly turn it back on, we need all the weapons we can achieve, especially human weapons, the Abyss will never see it coming,” Brom stated.
“Good, Brom, I want you to fly to the base, inform the paladin(s) of our arrival, I request an audience with him/ her alone, and make it clear, I do not plan to waste time on this invasion, Zoroki might be waiting for us, he might not, he even might be sending an army this way to finally eliminate me, I do not wish that to happen, and I would rather chase him into the Abyss and slaughter him!”
“I will inform the paladin immediately, and I will wait for you outside of the station afterwards.”
“Your attempt will be futile my friend! You cannot hope to destroy me! I will feast upon your Wretched bones and you will become my eternal servant, and the world will bow to the Defiler Zoroki!!! Kywhahaha, I invite you to the Abyss and hunt me down!”
A blinding pain crippled me and I fell to my knees gasping for breath, the presence of my Fallen inside my mind destroyed my body. I took my armored glove off and observed the Onyx Spider-ring, the gemstone was darker than it normally was and the finger it was attached to seemed to have no blood in it, as if it was sucking at my life force for Zoroki to talk to me.
“You will die Zoroki, I have an army at my back; you will burn in Hell for the suffering you have caused me in my mortal life, and now in my immortal.”
“Do not worry Kraxel, soon you will be my eternal slave, and then I will help snuff the light out of Kokoro and then Utopia itself! Zaiaku has plans indeed for this world! You are nothing but a pawn in a divine plan! This war has been millennia’s in the making, Utopia’s pitiful intervention and Kokoro desperate fight will not last forever, and everyone of you we kill is another one that joins Zaiaku’s side! and I am sure the Dark Lord Zaiaku will find a use for me as a Defiler, his generals are always needing a worthy champion!”
“I am sorry to crush your dreams then Zoroki because my grand scheme will ensure me as a Utopian Paladin, and I will guarantee that I destroy your Dark Lord and the Utopia will swarm into the Abyss and we will purge your world forever!”
“As I have already said, I invite you to fight and me; just give it your best shot!”
The world around me was turning black, the pain was becoming excruciating and I could slowly feel my blood beginning drained from my body and into the spider-ring, most likely feeding Zoroki. Then suddenly the pain stopped as the connection to my Fallen was lost; I stood up and began walking to the human station again; because I was following the band of civilians my squad rallied together, no one noticed I had collapsed and they were most likely already at the station my now. Not wanting anyone to realize what had happened, I crouched down and then pushed off, flapping my angelic wings to quickly propel me through the last five miles to quickly get to the human station. Brom was waiting out front, not smart enough to wonder what had kept me back, and together (with an escort of Liberty Crusaders) we approached the paladins’ office; wanting the meeting alone, I motioned everyone to walk on and I entered alone.
Around a circular table stood five pokemon: a Haxorus, Absol, Gallade, Escavalier, and an Accelgor; each one had a specific power armor to enhance their abilities, depending on the paladin, and wearing a someone else’s probably wouldn’t have had much use for the new wearer.
“Greetings Kraxel, your friend, Brom, informed us of your arrival and the band that you have brought from Sunmar, I can guarantee you that Forest Shadow will not be pleased with you taking his ‘mon, in fact, that will be most definitely an interesting sight; the Roaring Thunder leader can be, stubborn at times,” the Absol calmly announced.
“So I have witnessed, which is exactly why I have rallied these ‘mon, if he will not join us, than I will find those who will!” I smirked, “and I do believe I have not gotten any of your names.”
“Our names do not currently matter, we are here to discuss business, and business we will discuss!” the Haxorus roared.
Straightening upwards, expecting a fight to possibly break out, a stood firm and eyed the Haxorus, giving him the body language for him to know that he should probably back down and that I do not fear him.
“You are right,” I said nodding to the Haxorus, “I am here on business, to discuss about an invasion onto the south eastern Abyssal settlements.”
“Your attempt will be futile, even if no threat yet, the two cities are swarming with infernal contraptions and horrors; you will be cut down on sight, especially considering you are a Utopian,” the probably to proud Escavalier announced.
“And even then, what do you propose we do after the cities are destroyed? I seriously doubt you consider invading the Abyss, no one on Kokoro has even been there obviously, we only know what legend has told us,” the ancient-looking Accelgor whispered.
Not needing to say anything, I stared at each paladin and plainly smiled and nodded.
“You are indeed mad Kraxel, we barely have a large enough army, we have three thousand soldiers inside this complex, plus the eighty you and your band brought plus us; that is barely an army to match the possibly tens-of-thousands in the Abyss.”
“I was thinking we should contact Roaring Thunder and bring their clan to the fight, that will be an extra few thousand plus even more flying machines, your human technology will tear through the Abyss faster than they will tear through us; an invasion is possible.”
“Paladin, can we even guarantee that Roaring Thunder will join us, Forest Shadow’s jurisdiction does overrule ours at this Station considering Roaring Thunder will not allow our Crusade this station to 100% own it,” the Haxorus asked the Absol.
“Forest Shadow does not back down from a fight unless there is a fight somewhere else, I think that there is a chance that we can recruit him in the invasion for the two Abyssal cities, but getting him to go to the Abyss with this Utopian will be another story. Kraxel, I command you to now take your leave, we must radio to Forest Shadow and see if he will join us in taking Grudge and Nox.”
A Failed Experiment
(OOC: Sorry for the short post.)
Lisa the Roserade
The Jade Alliance, Thorn
En route to Talacola, Hyand, Kokoro
Still on the way back to Talacola, Lisa noticed she was one of the few Jade Alliance members still able to walk on her own. A vast majority was being carried or had to be supported to walk. That gave Lisa a huge confidence boost, now she truly believed she would be able to make it to Talacola unassisted. That confidence boost also provided her with some extra energy. I bet everyone will be impressed by my determination to get to the town despite my current condition.
The battle had taken quite a toll; the ground around them was full of bodies of soldiers from both Abyss and Kokoro with some burning remains of crashed helicopters lying among them. That scenery was not something to behold; Lisa suspected it could make her sick, so she tried to keep her eyes fixed on their destination and not to look around her more than necessary to navigate past the corpses. I hope this is the last time I witness such horror. But even while thinking that, she subconsciously knew her wish won’t come true.
After seeing the aftermath of the first part of the battle for Talacola, her feet once again became heavy and she had to slow down a bit. Seeing it also made her realize how insignificant and powerless she was in this war; even Liberty’s Crusade with all the weapons and technology at their disposal had trouble fighting the Abyss. Although she was far too proud to admit it, her eyes began to water. She quickly wiped the tears with her forearm, pretending she was just wiping the sweat from her forehead.
Lisa once again directed her eyes towards Talacola; the town was steadily getting closer, which comforted her a bit. She would be there soon and, hopefully, she would get some rest before she would be given a new task. Her brain seemed to be switching to autopilot and her mind became blank, so she continued her way in an almost zombie-like state, making small steps towards Talacola.
